I need to get a charger for it, one I can plug into my computer.

i have an extra USB to iPod cable, it will connect your ipod to your computer and charge it at the same time. you can have it.

where/when did you find it? and what kind of music is on it?

ipod users help me. I found a 30G ipod on the road last week and no one has claimed it. So questions abound.
I need to get a charger for it, one I can plug into my computer. Would future shop be a good place to look, or go to the apple store nearest me?

Next, once I get it plugged into my machine, to load music on it do I need to use itunes, or can I copy files from my machine straight to it? The settings on the machine are for windows, I checked before the battery died.

When it comes to apple products and ipods I am out of the loop so to speak.

Wow lucky you. The person who lost it will have learned a hard lesson on how to secure there stuff.

You will need to D/L i tunes its free, get a cable to transfer, it dose charge through the cable as well but dose not pack as big of a punch as a wall charger. Cable is available at the places you mentioned.
Transfer your music from your confuser to i tunes then sync good to go (what’s on there now will be removed) done. Repeat.
Cheers

I was thinking about putting on one of the colored KMC BMX chains. My ring & cog are 3/32

Cool, thanks. I'll PM you about that.

Found it in a bus shelter last week on Pape. Stopped in to light a smoke around midnight on my home and there it was. Posted a few signs but no replies. All kinds of music on it. No name, no contacts listed, no engraved email on the back, nothing. SOL to whoever lost it. I want to keep some of the tunes, but most I want to ditch.

So if I download Itunes and plug it in transfering songs is no problem, same as any mp3? And can I delete music then? If only they had left the operating manual as well, how rude not to.

The hard copy manual is not very in depth. You can find out what you need to know on Apples site. To charge it you must have a USB 2.0 connection. Putting all yer music in I-tunes is a time consuming bee-atch (it took me nearly a month to get it all sorted) but once there it is really easy. If you want to move music from the I-pod to yer computers hard-drive you will need a program called sharepod (thanks Shammy!) I also think you don't want to synch it up for some reason...Sham can fill you in on that one. If you are coming for safety tonite we can sort you out here. LOL...8 weeks ago I knew nothing. Heading out to get a Nano for the G.F. for her B-day...anyone know the cheapest place downtown?

my wife got a new computer and went to load her itunes library with what was on her ipod and it wiped her ipod clean. she had to start fresh. She got a warning saying that she was using a different library and she would lose everything if she continued. fortunately, that is what she wanted. others may know otherwise but that's her experience. she doesn't read the manuals, just usually wings it and is usually right (so she thinks). i'm sure apple has the user guides on line.

75 is a good start number :p , back is better , drugs are better , hows is you. if you buy Kieth a bottle of Single Malt he might make you a set of ice tires:)

i like being crafty, just a matter of getting everything together. there's a pretty good description on the icebike website.

as for me; the back is the same, the drugs are the same (well, running low atm) and the knee has eased up a bit. if all goes well by monday i might have two new jobs...

how late do these meetings go? i'll try to drop by after work (8-ish) with some condiments.
keith: i'll bring the wheels for you to look at if i show up. about your ipod: worst-buy has factory refurbished units for considerably less money $180 vs. $220 for a new 4gb. that being said, i bought one and plugged it in at home to find out it didn't work. returned it the next day, walked 5 minutes to the apple store and got a new one at full price.#$(*&@* couldn't be bothered with shopping around. ipod prices are pretty much fixed wherever you go. canada computers (college/bathurst) might have it for a bit less but their selection is not so good.

Operator: It is a 3ttt stem with Pinarello stamped on it, it came into Cycle Solutions on an old Pinarrello that was being stripped to sell the frame so I snatched the stem up.

Sweep: Nope 1/8 chain on 1/8 chainring, but when I was running the Elvish fixed it had a 1/8 chain on a 3/32 chainring and it worked perfectly fine, wasn't louder than usual or anything.

Jeremy: My brother is upgrading his wheelset to some Mavic Elipses, so he let me have his old ones. :)

2wheelsgood: Thanks! It took me like two hours to wrap them the first time I did it, I'm getting faster at it though.

Something about a 1/2 link chain

I got a Shadow Conspiracy 1/2 link chain.
It's real nice but definitely heavier than a KMC 1/8".
The pins are kinda dumb, mushroom capped.
Makes replacing links a pain, even with a Park CT-7
Looks great though.

How do you find it? I think it's kind of loud.

Lots has been written on the topic of tying and soldering. I have been doing this to wheels for over 10 years. The practice itself goes much farther back. While not scientifically provable I have found tied wheels to feel stiffer. Also I have found it to greatly increase the life of a wheel. You are effectively making the outside spoke crossing the flange. The only downside is no spoke cards :(
Oh yeah....D.t. makes both tying wire and solder for this purpose. Gerd Schraener, wheelbuilding guru, also advocates its use. Jobst Brandt, scientist, does not. I will take the advice of the guy who has built wheels for decades for many World Champions over the scientist any day.

From what I have read it started with big wheelers and bone shakers, because if you broke a spoke it could fling around and cause crashes or injury. Tying and soldering keeps broken spokes in place.

And you sure can use spoke cards. You just have to tape them on! I prefer GI Joes to spoke cards anyways.

That half link is crazy hot. And I really like how the tying and soldering looks as well. I'm surprised there's not more hard evidence of it being better. It makes sense that it would make the wheel stiffer.

Except for the hockey helmets and masks. That was just stupid. Actually everything was stupid. See point 1 again.

Any show I enjoy I just get on bittorrent. I find it really odd that most people don't do that. Whenever I go home for the holidays I'm astounded at how much **** most people have to wade through just to watch a show. Of course, I have no idea what new shows are on, but by the time I find out about the latest/greatest, I can just download the whole first season in one go and have at it.

I am not gifted concerning computers. That being said I had Shamil show me what to do with it today at the safety meeting. Downloaded itunes, got a usb charger. Everything works great I guess because, I don't know how to actually work anything yet.

I hear that. I got rid of my tv over 2 years ago now and never looked back. Much to the chagrin of my bosses at the tv station.

Anyone goin' out for a spin today?

Anyone know who sells kool stop pads in town? I'm looking for salmon cantilever (no-thread stud) to be specific.
