I think his bikes look fine... Not a great font and I'm not usually a fan of the colours, but they seem like decent custom rides. Don Wood himself however, in my limited experience of him on the web, is a complete jackass.

I was kinda thinkin the same thing....decent bikes but nothing special. Out of all the bikes at Nahbs his would be fairly far down the list. A chubby, scotch drinkin', cigar smokin' Texas resident. Nuff said.

It’s funny with Don W. he started the lug of the day thread & got pissed off cause other people were posting pictures on it & just flat out left. Not such a good idea just before his big show. I know the gets business from here.
Oh well i do like the stuff he makes. Now Mr. White has said he’s leaving! People need to toughen up and snap out of there blur.

Anyone have an extra 42-47 chain ring 144bcd (pretty sure thats what my cranks are...will check and report back if incorrect) laying around they want to get rid of?

49/17 is killing me, a 18/19t cog would work too.

I hope everyone got out and rode hard and long today it was totally gorgeous.

I only read threads in the main forum rarely. Still lost of 'timbuk2vschrome' or 'don't you hate this?' kind of stuff... The pic thread of where you ride is pretty good though.

Yeah, it's too bad Don left, I usually thought he had interesting stuff to say. I'm not a huge fan of his bikes, forks a little chunky and off balancing the rest of the bike and yeah, boo to serif fonts, but better than I could do :D . I also wish Mr White hadn't hidden his pics of chicks on bikes on his site. Now just pictures of him and his buddies...

There are a lot of folks who I miss more.

Hey Operator!

So I finally get around to making a base for the truing stand at Bike Chain only to see that it now has one. Anywho, I dropped it off none the less, maybe you can use it for a second stand.

Did I hear right? You guys are getting like 20 grand? Congrats!

Before I forget...

Bottom bracket clinic at bike chain (U of T) this thursday. Here's what the email said...

This week at Bike chain...

Don't miss the episode you have all been waiting for...

Bottom Brackets, and the flat fix of doom!

Show opener: We're going to teach you how to fix a flat yourself, because people will respect you more.
On the main stage: The bottom bracket overhaul. Drop some sweet shop terminology at your next box social, or sock-hop!

With special guest, Robin "You might remember me from single speed conversion, wheel building and headsets" Hamill.

There will be laughs, tears, and if you are good you might even learn something about the central mechanism of the modern bicycle.

This Thursday from 6-8, ONLY @ Bike Chain!

Be there or have a good excuse, sucka!

Oh ya, it's free!

Hrm, I always miss the drama but I am guessing that White is pissed off because of those very lame (in my opinion) pictures he took of cute girls "riding" a red track bike that he posted. I think he expected to be praised instead of ridiculed for his efforts, welcome to the internet!

Hell yeah! We're getting a bunch of new stuff, tensionmeter (yes!), calipers, copule more stands and pretty much anything else we were missing from before.

Are we really going to argue over one measly little centimeter? :D Yes the Guerciotti is a 54 and my two favourite bikes are 55's (one with a 55 top tube and one with a 56 top tube). Although the "Gurch" is a 54, it has a 55 top tube, so we're talking one centimeter of seatpost difference. Not worth mentioning if you ask me... So, in conclusion I am therefore clearly the rightful rider of the Gardin ;)

I dislike Mr. White's random chicks on bike photos because they are contrived, pointless and totally self indulgent. I think its funny imagining him convincing them to pose for him though... kinda perv stylez

PS. You all may have seen it, but this video entertained me so much. Its just great. Fun for the whole family!

If you didn't already have a sweet vintage ride, you might have had the chance to ride it. :D Seriously tho....it will be a loaner. Its too small for me and it would be a crime to just hang it up on the wall and not let it be used. One day my friend....one day.

Have any of you guys seen Wonder Showzen? It's this "children's show" on MTV2, and it's one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. Prime example is the "Aunt Flo" cartoon. The link below is for Season 2, Episode 1.. check it out at approx 13:35 in for Aunt Flo.

"Is that my maturity?"
"No, that's just a churro stand. One please!"

Lucky Mitch....nice pics, enjoy the rocks.
As for Mr White.....me thinks he has a straddle-my-bike fetish.

Yes Mitch. I am so jealous. I'm setting up my work practicum for the summer and wistfully thinking of the bike tour I won't be able to do :( . Damn, work is over-rated.

And for Mr. White, there are worse fetishes out there. It's just too bad people go stomping off from the forum. It is a forum after all.

And Cycle therapy has a nice white Gardin frame, 57 or 58 according to Mike, for sale. I have no $ again, so it's a no go for me.

Great, thanks. "Would you kick a pony in the face to end world hunger?"

 Amazing what a CM can do

'Beat Kids' reporter kid: "What'd you do with the bowl?"
Pageant contestent: "What bowl?"
Kid: "The one you got free with that haircut"

I dislike Mr. White's random chicks on bike photos because they are contrived, pointless and totally self indulgent. I think its funny imagining him convincing them to pose for him though... kinda perv stylezhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pv5zWaTEVkI

strangely, that's kind of why i like them...

Picturing him getting ppl to straddle his ride is kinda funny.
"Excuse me Miss, but I couldn't help but notice I don't have a picture of you straddling my top tube."

Indeed "Hi, this may sound strange but...have you even felt italian steel between your legs?'

you're referring to the toptube of your bike right.
