Hey Lord Foo, are you still looking for shoes? I have a pair of Axo vipers in size 45 that I'll let go cheap.

Thanks for the offer, but those are a wee bit large for me -- I was trying to jump on those Sidis Keith was giving away, but missed my chance. In retrospect, that doesn't really matter - I went to MEC yesterday and tried on virtually every size of sidi -- they just don't fit the shape of my feet. And so continues the search for shoes!

45= too large. Mine would likely fit a 10 1/2 comfortably. I'm an 11 and they're pretty snug.

I believe that was the third and final for the evening. Thanks to all who ended up hanging out - and for the donations of materials, you will be receiving reimbursements I assure you. Oh yeah and I believe we've found a new hang out. :)

That was a fun ride last night. Was nice to hook up with everyone. Hopefully there'll be more excuses to hang out.

Oh yeah....you may want to dis-assemble the bike if you can. many shops will try to ding you with dis-assembly/ re-assembly charges...this is often not covered by warranty.

Looks similar to the Tsunami road frames available on chucksbikes for $300 USD. Comes with carbon fork and looks better than that bike. And you don't have to deal with ebay garbage.

P.S Ebay auction is for a used frame as well.

Hrm, interesting. A few years ago Dukes had a blowout sale on Santa Cruz road frames, something like 1200$ for an Ultegra equipped ride. I was really tempted and they had a bunch in my size and I was thinking about it but I'd never heard anything about Santa Cruz roadies before, so wasn't sure what to do about it. A few days later, I was in Sporting Life with a friend and while she was trying on shoes, I was telling her about the bike and the good deal and whether or not I should get one. One of the kids working there overheard our conversation and he said "Excuse me, but I worked at Dukes for awhile and those Santa Cruz bikes are POS's" and he went into great detail about how stiff and unforgiving the ride was and that the reason Dukes had so many was because they couldn't sell them.

I was grateful to the kid and thanked him and he was really great about the whole thing, no bitterness at Dukes or anything like that, he just knew that the bikes were not that great and there was a reason they were on sale. This was in 2003 or so, so maybe Santa Cruz frames are better now but it looked exactly like that one you have linked. So, that is one opinion for you :)

edit: does anyone know if those Tsunami track's with the carbon forks (http://www.chucksbikes.com/store/indexfr076.htm) are drilled for brakes?

That Pini from Cali will be close to 80$USD to ship plus the seller cannot ship USPS so they will have to use FedEx or UPS which means brokerage fees, so add probably another 100$CDN onto the total. You will be spending close to 900$CDN on it, far too much if you ask me. Wait for something on CL? Or are you set on a Pini?

I just noticed someone put Rob Ford's quote, pic and email address up on fixedgeargallery. The poor bugger will rue the day.

that same business with Ford also made it to the Surly blog. that guy is such a ****** with a $5 haircut and child molester tie.
