did you say "you're inadequate" to the cop? :P

i think so. and then the last thing i remember was the sound of a swinging night stick...

he did give me a thorough talking-to though, as if i was some eight year old who forgot to zip up his coat before recess. on a bit of a power trip if you ask me.

FYI, cherry beach trail closure: http://bikingtoronto.blogspot.com/2007/04/you-cant-bike-through-cherry-beach.html

I discovered that a couple days ago. It's not too much of a detour around unwin and then you can pick up the trail at Regatta road again.

Environmental cleanup eh? It looks like they're building a soccer field to me. No more parties anymore! (unless you're having a soccer party)

qqy- I was down at Queen/Don valley trail yesterday and the sign says it opens again in may. I'll believe it when I see it though.

great party yesterday stephen! You've got the bbq skills down pat. It was certainly a safe event.

ps. duppy, I bought a front brake for my fixed gear yesterday but I thought you might want it instead as it would really suit your ride. let me know if you want to trade or something.

Just spoke with Toby and he says aside from some road rash on his shoulder, all is well and then he asked me if I was riding today.

He did mention that the night got crazier after the crash and we all split up. But Dan was there so if there're any "midgets brandishing garden hoses wearing lederhosen swearing at nuns in swahili" stories to be told I'll leave them to him.

I'm just cleaning up the last remnants of yesterday but I could be convinced to ride for sure if other people are heading out.

You all had a better night than me. I got hit by a car and then spent most of the night at the police station.

I am now going out to buy a new helmet. Ride safe out there, folks.

Just under $700 with taxes in. I changed the specs above as well. I also have a fanless psu and nearly silent aftermarket cpu/gpu coolers so I won't need to buy those. (Noise pisses me off greatly).

No camera work for the crash!? Being the host/cameraman/safety inspector can be a load of work. Sorry I didn't come out but knowing I was racing today for the first time this year, and the inevitable beverages that would be consumed, was a bit too risky for my un-disiplined self. Sounded like a good time.
As far as the race my knees are aching and I have a bit o sunburn but otherwise a great ride. Our whole crew finished with the exception of Bradyn who snapped his chain...Sh!tmano..already replaced with a SRAM. Think I knocked about 20 mins off last years time and did it with tunes the whole way....good times!

Offhoff, did you need a 3/32 or 1/8 144 BCD chain ring? I have a used 3/32 Sugino 46 which you can have for a beverage consideration or a cherry NJS Sugino 48 in 1/8" which will cost you many dollars. Or if you're feeling hefty, I have a 3/32" Sakae in 52. :D

Let me know and I can drop it off at Cavern tomorrow if I can. I'll probably need a sanity ride as I head in to the term's home stretch.

nice find. from what i understand, they are pretty much mick-ups of the old shimanos. for that price you can't even get the cheap wellgos from MEC.

Let me know when, I'll be pulling a late one, but I seem to be nearly out of magic beans from I Deal and that just won't do. I'll probably work steady through the morning, but noon or early afternoon would be a good break. I also may need to go out to Bloor West to pick up a laser printer refill. My cartridge is on its last legs.

Project bike help needed... so I've got the big bits (frame, fork, wheels, hs, bb) but i'm still in need of a decent crank, stem and seat post. I didn't get a chance to hit the swap today but figured my fellow forum members may have some suggestions on where i can find these items without breaking the bank. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I would like to mention that it's a simply splendid evening for a ride on the Gardiner. If you have the time to get out for a ride within the next 5 hours or so it comes highly recommended. (Eastbound only, Westbound has already re-opened)

Project bike help needed... so I've got the big bits (frame, fork, wheels, hs, bb) but i'm still in need of a decent crank, stem and seat post. I'm just signing on now. Yeah I was with Toby last night and he seemed to be fine. He does have a nasty bit of road rash on his shoulder and his wrist is kind of sore. He had a tensor bandage on it today. As for last night him and I went to Dance Cave which was amazing as expected. Then while riding south on Bathurst at like 3:00am we heard live music coming out of this house so we went in and "crashed" the party. We got free beer and met some girl who had a flying v shaped ukulele. Her and I jammed ukulele style. Then after all of this it turned out I actually knew the dude who lived there/whose birthday it was. He's a total dickbag not that that's relevent to the story... Great night!!!

Stephen: thanks for a great bbq!

Dom: We're your real insurance. Just give us the guy's address who hit you and we'll go kick his ass. On a more serious note I hope you're okay.
