Too bad the Brazilian supreme court seems like it might strike it down. Boingboing has been all over this and the flickr picture are fantastic but I still think it will be struck down.

Wow I can't believe they managed to do that in sao paolo, if only for a short while. Advertising is considered a god-given right around here. Speaking of advertising, Hey Keith I sent one of my Tai Chi teachers your way for her 'spring tuneup'. I'd probably expect the worst!

I dont know about the "cranial therapy" but I do know that everyone who goes to her rave about the results. I can count 10 Elite Ontario road cyclists off the top of my head who use her services.

Cheers for sending em my way. Also for the warning. :D I highly doubt it is worse than some of the rigs I have had in here so far this year. One example...stripped steerer/headset, destroyed B.B, broken rear hub axle, stuck seatpost, 10 broken spokes on the rear wheel, 2 rear sprockets missing 4 or more teeth and a chain rusted beyond belief. They actually rode this bike in to the shop. I couldnt believe it. Then the inevitable " Can I get this by the end of the day?" When I quoted the cost they changed their mind.

I thought you were describing 10 different customers!
I guess I can't complain about my temporarily stuck bb and 2.5mm wobble in my rear wheel

"But advertising and business groups regard the legislation as injurious to society and an affront to their professions. They say that free expression will be inhibited, jobs will be lost and consumers will have less information on which to base purchasing decisions. They also argue that streets will be less safe at night with the loss of lighting from outdoor advertising."

That's an affront to anyone's intelligence. The only information I want is how "Probe" relates to a mattress
http://cavit8.clawz.com/images/billboard.jpg

And since when is advertising expression "free"? Decreased safety due to decrease light from billboards Oh, ha ha ha!

And Somna, massage therapists often do more than one kind of therapy. I kind of stare at the ceiling when people start talking about cranial therapy myself, but give her a shout and see if she does sports-injury massage or variants like Active Release Therapy.

Anyhow. Today I discovered the fun hill on Scarborough road in the beaches. A nice fine line between given' er and deciding just how far you can push it before you risk careening across queen street and hitting the building on the other side (if you make it through the cars of course)

I've been training on the hills in the beaches, and I'd venture to say that Scarborough road is not only the steepest hill in the area, but perhaps in the city? Google Earth elevation data doesn't seem to be accurate enough, as it shows the same thing for all of the parallel streets.

I personally got to know that hill the first time when I was moving into the area a while back.. Queen was closed for streetcar repairs, and Scarborough road was the only street open to cross through. So... I got to drive a fully loaded U-Haul down it - good times!

I like working with people on bike fit issues and it's something I will always want more experience with. If anyone wants to swing by and adjust some fitting weirdness, feel free. We can call it free of charge if you're patient and let me run around and deal with other people in the shop at times.

Good. I never liked the cut of your jib, anyway. This morning I got in a not-quite-an-argument w/ someone who had no idea that the big painted line at the intersection means "stop here." Another person came over to break things up and I ended up making a pirate noise ("Yaaar") at both of them and just riding off. This, and it's only April ...

PS. I love your jib. It's glorious.

I'm out for a ride last night and someone either left a Europe Bound 'camelback' for anyone to take, which I did, or forgot it on their front lawn by the curb.

So apparently when it rains it pours. I got clipped by a cab today. I'm ok too just a nasty gash on my knee. My front wheels is bonkered though so I'm off the road for atleast tomorrow.

For all who want details I was going north on yonge just south of charles and was passing a parked purolator truck. The cabbie switched lanes without a signal or looking and hit me. I got thrown but the bike definitely took the worst of it.

Anyways I'm all good and stay safe everyone.

Glad you're okay, Off. Today seemed to be "let's park in the bike lane" day. If the city ticketed 1/3 of the cars/delivery vehicles in the bike lanes, they could pay for the city bike plan in three months. It's tempting to get an old beater with a kick stand and just park it in the street.

I left the ring at Cavern - I was by a little later than I'd intended.

It may sound like a waste of services, and it might cost you a few bucks, but I always advise people that if they are in an accident, and bike damage or injury is apparent, stay on the scene and ask for someone to call an ambulance. This way an accident report has to be filled out on scene and witnesses give statements then and there. I have sadly learned my lesson to take nothing for granted in car/bike disputes....especially the seeming goodwill of drivers who will screw you later given the chance.

If I can be of any legal help (though I normally would represent Mr. Vandriver) let me know.

are you an attourney? it would be helpful to have a legal adviser among us; especially in light of the latest round of collisions.
