Anyone have a broken handicam they can give me? Sounds like an excellent deterrent if this gets a bunch more air time (which I assume it will). Plus if they take it from me and break it, I might be able to get a free working replacement for you if you're lucky.

Just get a shirt made "Caution: Currently Filming Documentary" on the back. That will scare them.

A good technique to deal with aggressive drivers is to take out your cell phone with camera and calmly take pictures of there license plates. It usually gets them to be quiet quite quickly.

As well the new habanero flavoured bbq sauce from loblaws, PC brand is really good even if it has enough sodium to give me high blood pressure.

Nope. I spent some time helping him identify the bike (it's a repro that's been acting as decoration) and then he said "Oh, there's a typo in the ad, I want $1500 not $500." So no. I wouldn't spend $1500 on a new bike and a reach-around let alone a curiosity type bike I'd rarely ride.

Ha ha! Three free posts from the Phillies! Well done Shiz

Philly cops don't do anything. its awesome. when I was in Florida a few weeks ago, we got pulled over for going to wrong way, running lights and not yielding to peds, and he said, what would a Philly cop do? we said they wouldn't of done anything. he didn't believe us.

I usually point at their license plate too, although on my way home I had to point at the solidly red traffic light. I start riding after waiting at MY red light and this woman in a benz suv comes through the intersection and jams on her brakes/horn. I pointed at her red light and she yelled at me. Awesome.

Reminds me of when I nearly creamed a pedestrian who walked out into traffic and proceeded to tell me to watch where I'm going. Riiiiight.

I've become an advance of the green jumper..... when I see a driver without a hope in hell of getting into the intersection before the yellow runs out, I sly forward blocking them, saying...HEY it's f*&^%n' red!!! Sooo may folks just look sheepish, like a kid caught with a pre-dinner cookie. If the drivers are to take advantage of the 3sec common red, we're gonna have words. That's my go time that gets me in front of the curb lane draggers. hahahahaha I DO love leaving the occasional motorist stranded in the intersection....

d'oh i had one kicking around for a couple years (found it, called the person and they never picked it up) until just last week i turned it into a phone donation box...

in other news, i just replaced my very old cell phone with a schmancy new phone (with camera!!) this afternoon and i'm quite amused.

I just did the same as Rogers is going to drop their analog service, so I pretty much had to switch. I got a simple phone (yay) but it took me a while to get a ring tone I like. Damn, there's some annoying ones out there. And no single ring option on this phone. So I had to make my own with a ten second pause....

And I had fun trucking my new Sumolounge omni home on my back today. As an aside, anyone want a Queen size futon with two covers and/or a four drawer filing cabinet?

And to keep it fixie related, I was unlocking my bike today when a guy walked up with his wife and kids and started asking me about my "crazy bike". After he invited his wife to feel my thighs, we chatted for a few minutes before they went on their way. Fixies provide an interesting way to meet people. This is now my favourite fixie encounter pre-empting the one with IBrad and Zippered where a women was showing her grandson how fixed gears worked (she rode at Forest Hill velodrome).

I usually point to my huge guns; by which I mean muscles of course.

Today I met a guy riding a Cervelo Soloist Carbon along Harbord. Nice guy, said he used to work at Cervelo and got the bike for free(!) I told him I thought they just got a really good discount and he said he just asked his boss if it made sense for him to be riding a beat-up old Bianchi (which he said is still a fantastic riding bike btw) and not advertising for Cervelo and then held his breath. It would appear his angle worked. Sounds like an interesting idea to me...
