Has anyone seen this over on Crumpler?

http://www.crumplerbags.com/b4b/

Basically, June 2 - 10 they are trading beer for bags. There are a handful of bags that qualify and if I've worked out the numbers correctly you should be able to save a ton of cash on some pretty decent stuff...

It would be funny to get the whole crew to show up for a "trade" :)

haha my mum is over helping me pack up all my crap in preparation for my trip and we filled 2 garbage bags full of old clothes that I don't want anymore. She checked the pockets of the jackets I put in there and she found 2 bags of weed in 2 different jackets, one of which was accompanied by a dizzee rascal ticket stub. I totally thought that weed was gone forever! Hooray! Looks kind of stale though...

I am so out of touch with that aspect of Toronto cycling. I have NO idea where the brickworks even are. Oh well, Wes is dragging me out tomorrow morning so hopefully I'll learn.

From an email:

cool. And I'm interested in checking out some of the trails that Mitch posted that I haven't ridden yet. We planned on meeting at Pottery Rd & Bayview for 9:00. If you want to join me on my ride over, you're more than welcome. I figure then I can ride the flats with you up to some of the Taylor Creek trails.

Check w/ Somnambulant for more details, I suppose.

so my wife and i are going home when we see a guy stop his car at Gerrard just west of jarvis...he parks up and opens the door...and almost doors one of three bicycle cops who were riding by. Man all I could see was his look of terror as all 3 cops dismounted and started yelling at him....hahahahahahaha man they were really pissed at him...not sure what happened but looked like he would be stuck for a while!

Dupes, I had a similar experience...

I was racing off to hit up CM yesterday from Cavern, and along Queen I saw a car stopped at the side of the road and the passenger door opened on the left, I took the right side, and of course the right door whipped open, I had enough room to roughly hop the curb... an all I hear from the sidelines was a highshool kid say " huh huh... that was almost like in the movies...." I don't know what I was most upset about.. almost getting smoked... or this kid not knowing that it happens all too often in real life.

edit: ps. this is very much weather permitting. The Don is not much fun when it's really wet. As I said, I'll update in the morning if the plan has changed.

Who was it that said....

In Europe they teach you to open your car door with the opposite hand, thus forcing one to look backwards into traffic. I don't know if this was mentioned before but it sure does makes sense.

Dunno, they also teach you to watch out for bicyclists, avoid dooring bicyclists, don't go faster than the speed limit, shoulder check all lane changes and drive with both hands on the steering wheel in "driving sch00l".

In Austria opening your door with your lefthand and/or not doing a complete shoulder check when opening the door = automatic test failure.

Bakery Magic? :D

Light rain you can still ride the upper Don, slippery hills and wet logs, that almost sounds fun.
However the single track just gets wet like a sandy beach, almost impossible ride through.

Seeing as the weather's a write off this weekend, anyone up to planning a bit of a group ride at Albion or Kelso next weekend? Long range forecast is looking good and I'd be happy to throw another bike and rider in my car if we head up.

Don was fun..a little greasy but no nasty mishaps to speak of. A better wet tire on the rear would have been nice but steering traction was o.k. Good times! No car doors to speak of either :D There were a few other riders but for the most part we didn't really run into anyone on the trail.

What he said.. mostly. My front wheel washed out after that last little downhill (with the berm-turn) before the big climb up to the place where there was construction under the bridge. Just a scraped knee and a bruised hip. No biggie. It was slick though.. pretty similar to that first time the two of us went in.

I saw a Cannondale track frame on the Canadian Cyclist classifieds section. It is a 56cm frame and it is 350$CDN for the frame, fork and headset; maybe someone here can use the info.

Damn tall people why can't I find a local c-dale track (the blue alu kinds from the mid 90s) in my size ever.
Atleast this one isn't the right model. Saves me some frustration.

Damn tall people....

Us real tall people usually look at these ads and say "damn short people..." :)
