Bikes on Wheels in Kensington market just got a bunch of MICHE stuff in (Hubs, BB, Chains, cranks). Hub sets from 2006 at $80. Ka-razy! Just to let you know. I may work there, but this is not a commercial. Just want you to kow that it's crazy deal.

Ok, so I messed up. It's a long story but the hubs were mislabeled. Anyhow, they're not $80, more like $180. Sound a bit better? Not like anyone was rushing out to get them anyhow.

Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up

hehe I couldn't help myself
I still need to get the frame prepped (the seat tube needs reaming, as does the head tube and your mom. The bottom bracket shell also needs to be tapped and chased).

...I just realized looking at this photo that even my valve caps match. Hooray for Continental!

Q: anyone know if Bikes on Wheels, Cavern, Urbane, etc. have a Sugino 75 BB in stock? I'd like to buy one locally if possible.

Also, as far as cheap-but-not-crap chainrings go, I was thinking Salsa - anyone feel the need to steer me away from that decision?

Have fun today, everyone - it looks like it's going to be nice weather all day (high of 10 degrees). My ass is going to be kickin' out the jams (mother****er) at the shop.

We'll come visit you eyefloater. What!! The picture changed!

Hey Shiznaz, pg 9 Holiday 2005 Pedal issue has a small biography on your maker (your Cyclops that is).

Just a thanks to Cavernmerch for suggesting Byers-Bush they definately seemed to know what they were doing and talking about and the turn around time I was coated was only 3 or 4 days which seemed awesome.

I have a secret surprise for all of you when my bike is done, I will only hint now that it may be described as "JAM"

Anyone here chopped a brooks before? I'm seriously considering trying to do it myself. I've read most of the guides I could google find on the net but if anyone has one that was particularly good please post it.

Good ride today guys. I got a Columbus tubing cycling cap and some rock climbing stuff from MEC. As I was leaving MEC I saw a girl with a black fixie who turned out to be none other than our very own 32flavors. Hows that for stalking?

Holy mother of god was it ever busy at the shop today. Everyone and their mother apparently felt like coming in, having a look around and getting a flat fixed. I ended up selling two bikes though (first two in Cycle Therapy's history) which I thought was pretty cool/hilarious, seeing as I have the worst personality out of anyone at the shop. ;)

Still waiting for an answer on that Salsa chainring question. Speak up please if you're in the know.

That’s great man very cool on selling 2 bikes last time i was there, the shop was not selling bikes. a good step forward. A good chainring & bb best to see one of the two shops always mentioned. But i'm sure a salsa would work great no?

Sweep,
The shop changed locations. We're now on Queen a block east of Pape. The new place looks good and is waaay bigger than the old shop.

damn, i should have come out riding with you guys today. i realized as i was venturing out just before noon that you would be meeting. but man alive, i was cycling because i'm trying to drink LESS beer. i just had to ride hills, hills, hills to whip myself into shape before the first official club ride of the season next week.
so i hauled my ass up bluffer's park hill (brimley/kingston road); i mentioned doing a group ride up this hill a while ago. i'd still like to see it happen; i'll buy a beer for the first guy to the top. actually threre's a great pub not too far from there, feather's, which is famous for having 450+ kinds of sinlge malt scotch on hand. not sure if you all are into that kind of imbibing (sp?). wait, less beer, less beer...

shinaz - when are we going to see the cyclops on the road? (that isn't an ancient riddle...)

so did you guys end up at Sneaky Dee's or what?, I'll be really bummed if I missed out on that.

A friend woke me up at like 5 minutes to 6 yesterday morning standing at my door with his roadbike, so I wolfed down breakfast and we ended up riding to another friends house waking him up at 6:30 then riding to Aurora and back... first century of the year (140-150km something like that... I didn't have my computer on the bike)......*shame* although I didn't ride my fixie either..... too much salt up there.

so did you guys end up at Sneaky Dee's or what?, I'll be really bummed if I missed out on that.

no, we wanted to go visit Keith @ Cavern, so it was the wrong direction to hit Sneaky Dee's. We just hit a pub down around there. But I definitely think we need to go there for some dirty food and dirtier beer sometime soon.

If you're really curious about the route distance.

The UI needs some work.

cool, I just tried to trace my route... it was more like 135km for the day.
I find it interesting that although google maps does not display the streets of the so-call Oak Ridges Morain (sp?), obviously because that was under threat of suburban developement and last we heard it was to remain natural parkland?? therefore it shouldn't be displaying streets because there shouldn't be any. But yesterday part of our morning route zig zagged diagonally from Yonge and Elgin Mills up to Bathurst and Bloomington Sideroad. While riding we didn't know that was part of the Oak Ridges area......but looking at it now it's easy to see. Where google displays nothing north of Bathurst Glenn Golf course is actually solid housing development right now. Money talks eh?

yet another wicked awesome day today huh?

eyefloater: I assumed the shop was closed today and I was correct, but I went past it on my way and peeked in. :) I'll definitely have to drop by sometime! When are you guys starting Summer hours?

Q: anyone know if Bikes on Wheels, Cavern, Urbane, etc. have a Sugino 75 BB in stock? I'd like to buy one locally if possible.

Also, as far as cheap-but-not-crap chainrings go, I was thinking Salsa - anyone feel the need to steer me away from that decision?

Have fun today, everyone - it looks like it's going to be nice weather all day (high of 10 degrees). My ass is going to be kickin' out the jams (mother****er) at the shop.

Don't think that Bikes on Wheels has any.

That's my usual TT route.

There seems to be quite the discrepancy with the gmap pedometer site and actual google maps. For example the latter has the bayview extension while the former does not. I think there's some sort of sync issue with pedometer being seriously outdated.
