Hahahaha you wish 100000flavours. Roman Numerals are so last week, it's all about binary now! Anyway the hilarious bars are off the bike for now but will be back for CM for sure. Being fairly cold I would be down for an underground parking lot trackstand, backward riding, showboating type session, even though I have a race on sunday and should be piling on the miles!

So come one, come all, but remember:

Nature abhors a vacuum.

Anyone know if any of the courier companies are doing summer hiring soon? I'm pondering trying to get a job before I go to China this summer. No so much worried about cash (freelancing pays the bills) but more in the experience of being on my bike and of working in such an odd part of the corporate world...

Forschungszentrum Telekommunikation Wien?

The ftw() function shall recursively descend the directory hierarchy rooted in path. For each object in the hierarchy, ftw() shall call the function pointed to by fn, passing it a pointer to a null-terminated character string containing the name of the object, a pointer to a stat structure containing information about the object, and an integer.

I'm tempted to say yes, but my eyelid was twitching for three days and I cut out caffiene, so my enthusiasm level for just about everything has flatlined (can we say addiction?). But still.... how's a solid 'maybe'?

And... Honest Ed's has a parking lot?

has anyone bought a pair of clipless mtb shoes only to find them a wee bit tight? i understand that they'll stretch a bit..i just hope it'll be enough. the shoes are new sidi dominators, size 41 (small narrow feet). got them off ebay for cheap after months of shopping around. i need to replace my shimano road shoes.. sick and tired of walking around like a duck and falling on my ass.. wiped out the other week while walking on newly mopped floors in my building.

normal width sidis tend to be a little narrow, which is why they make the "mega" (wider) size. i bought a size up and they fit like normal shoes would. be aware that they will stretch once you wear them more, particularly if they get wet or it is really hot outside. are you wearing normal socks or thin cycling socks in them?

i've got double socks now (ankle socks over wool knee socks..or argyle when the weather permits but that's another story..) which fit well in my current road shoes. i don't have thin cycling socks but i should probably get a couple pairs for warmer weather riding. i've tried size 41 sidis before and the fit was ok. hindsight being what it is, maybe i should've got a 41.5 or a non-narrow 41. fack, i hope they stretch out enough.

Are you wearing thick socks now? Thin stuff for the summer will provide some more toe moving room. I have Dominator's as well and they are REALLY tight when I am wearing Wooly Booly's. With regular cool max they are super sweet.

if you've got two pairs or socks on now, then in the summer/spring with thin socks they should fit fine. FWIW i wear woolie boolie socks from MEC (or another wool equivalent) in my sidi dominators and they fit fine. with cycling socks they are a bit too roomy so you'll notice a difference if you wear something thinner. are you using the sidi insoles? try putting them in if you aren't they make a big difference in fit as well.

I stopped selling Velocity rims about 5 years ago when they raised their prices by about 50%. I would guess that you could get em online for a fair bit cheaper than I could get em to you for.

hey jay-dubya, thanks for the suggestions. oh, and that cavern-guy too. i'm definitely wearing the insoles, they look pretty unforgiving without them. my woolie-boolies are burgundy knee-high from chocky's. they're probably for school girls.

I too was one of the 0-day members, and still am; never b&'d. I was a big Lowtax fan back in his old PlanetQuake days (~'98) and loved Cranky Steve's Haunted *****house. Another forum I belonged to (AQ2 on fear.net) pestered him endlessly to bring it back after he got fired from PQ, and he started eventually registered SA's domain. We even ran servers to play the worst maps from Crank Steve and it was excellent as everone acted absurdly, which kinda served as a prototype for FYAD.

I'm surprised people quit in '03 as that's when the file forums were formed, which frankly was the best part of SA ever. I swear that Toronto must have the highest per capita number of goons anywhere.

Yeah, I was only banned the one time, I still have an '01 registration date which I guess makes me cool, right? I still think the forums are great, I just meant that it sorta peaked in 2003ish and hasn't really been that funny (for me) since then. There are still great threads now and then but the chaos-level has definetely fallen of a bit. Never been to a Toronto Goonmeet but I'll take your word for it that we have a lot here :)

I was about to GIS "school girls" and post something offensive ... but I realized I'm at work and would rather like to keep this job. ;)

PS. So I'm rocking a Zefal "Flamingo" fender on the KHS. Anyone tried out the Zefal "Swan" fenders ... I'm thinking about getting one of them for the next bike.

PPS. Can a Brooks Swallow be justified on a Pake?

I think I need to get one of those kinds of fenders.. I'm tired of hearing mine rattling around back there. Are any of those things easy to just take off / put on depending on the weather?

and yes, I think a good saddle should be justifiable (sp) on any bike!

Anybody esle find the cars freaking insane on the roads today? Here is my day of biking:

I had a dentist appointment up at yonge and st. clair at 2:30, so I go up bathurst and some lady opens her passenger door right infront of me so I have to do the quicksilver hop thing and just let my bike sail into the door. I yelled at her for being a stupid b*tch and then road east on st. clair.

After my appointment I went further east along davisville to go to george's trains for some art supplies. I start riding back west along st. clair again and come up to a section of bridge where they are doing street car rail installation and there is spare rail and debris and road cracks everywhere so I just take the whole lane. Some eastern european guy in a big pickup truck then pulls up behind me, starts to tailgate me while honking and swerves from side to side like a mad-man trying to get past me. He narrowly brushes past me and I immediately catch up to him at the red light 50 metres ahead. He rolls down his window and starts yelling at me saying that I'm going all over the road. I yell back at him for being a maniac and slap his window. The light turns green and he does a burnout-style start just to swerve in front of meto cut me off, so I hit into the side of his car and knock his side view out of position. He luckily regained his sanity and kept driving after this and I took a side road to get away from him.

After that I ride down yonge street towards bloor. I was going at a fairly good pace by the time I got to canadian tire and davenport but all the acrs were still zipping by me. A taxi pulls up next to me in the same lane and then without signalling pulls over to the curb and stops (more accurately pulls into me forcing me between the curb and his car. I get a nasty pedal strike and smash my handlbars into his side view mirror and then fall off the bike awkwardly, with my bike sliding mostly under the cab. I get up and start yelling at the cab and slap the windshield. The passenger gets out and says "You were going too fast". Then the cab starts to drive away so I yell at him that I have his plate number and that I'm calling 911. Luckily (for him), he stops and we wait for the cops to get there. In the mean time the cabbie tries using every trick in the book: he blames me for the collision, he says I wasn't looking where I was going, he says I damaged his car (although the damage was clearly from previous collisions and his car was beat to hell). He tries to guilt me, he tries to pay me, he starts swearing at me, he tries to grab me, he offers to drive me home, he starts talking about God and karma and Newtonian physics. But he was really dumb, I'm not the idiot he thought I was I guess so I didn't buy any of it.

Meanwhile a passerby who saw it hung around in case I needed him and the cabbie gets out and starts swearing at the witness calling him a '******** dirty russian' and various other mean things. I actually have to get between the two guys to calm down the situation. Once the cop finally arrives I tell him my part of the story and then he asks the cabbie what happened. The cab driver pantomimes me trying to overtake him on my bike and then turn into his cab a few times before the cop says "Shut up and stop it, you look like a fool". Anyways, I file a report, I say I'm not pressing charges nor do I really want any money. I just wanted to report this ass and hope his premium goes up. As far as damage, I have a rip in a 50 dollar pair of jeans, a skinned knee and my stem was twisted out of position so I had to walk my bike to the closest bike shop so I could ride home. I freaking hate cabs.

I still have all his insurance info and a collision report in case I want to file a claim against him.

I think I need to get one of those kinds of fenders.. I'm tired of hearing mine rattling around back there. Are any of those things easy to just take off / put on depending on the weather?

and yes, I think a good saddle should be justifiable (sp) on any bike!

i had a flamingo on the old fuji and it screws on/off the seat tube pretty quickly. it also looks pretty permanent so i never had any problems with it being stolen while the bike was locked up. of course fate would have it that i'd lose the fender because the entire bike got stolen.
brooks is nice on anything... i like to keep it old school and italian though.

This morning Claudia Schiffer ran out in front of me on the street and I accidentally impregnated her. It was rad (all over the place).

holy cow shiznaz, i'm glad you're ok and were able to walk away from it. are you totally sure the bike's ok? check it out again after you've had some time to relax and slap him with a claim so his premiums will go up if you find anything. it's a bit of pain when you have to deal with the adjuster but it's worth it if the damage is high. what are the chances of getting that menace off the road? what a character... what ****ing pisses me off is that ****ing clueless pedestrians actually think riding with traffic is "too fast".

Oh yeah while I was walking my bike to curbside some guy flew past me at bloor and spadina on a fuji track with a camo messenger bag. He pulled some wicked looking skids going into the intersection and then powered off down the road. It was *cool*

Hardly a menace... just a normal day for a cabbie. That'll learn ya for ridin' next to the curb. :roflmao: :roflmao:

Next time pass on the left while calling "on the left you F^&*#@R" while waving your u lock in his face.
Anytime I see a ped make the "TAXI!!" near me I wait for the car to fall from the sky and land on me, after all these years of Jammin' Traffic it's the one motion that'll still make my heart skip a beat.

Wish I'd seen the Fuji Carve.
Only seven racers at that Irish thingy? Kinda wish I'd gone now..

Wow, I hope you and your bike are ok...

I ****ing hate cabs, they're always cutting me off and pushing me to the side of the road.

Yea the drivers were terrible today... nothing happened that was as bad as you but I was Getting cut off at almost every intersection on my way to school today...

I was riding up Coxwell and at Gerrard this tiny lady driving her tank of an SUV floored it onto Coxwell nearly skimming my front wheel. I caught up to her at the next light and knocked on her window and told her to watch what she's doing etc... and she did the classic hand gesture and sped off.

I hate cars... hope you're alright Shiz
