Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Nope, sorry.. I didn't touch the camera at all on Saturday I don't think. Unless you specifically remember me taking a photo. :P:(

Way to go Wes!!! And all y'all for puttin' the hurt on.
Hrm. I wonder how Nadir feels about those pics being posted... seeing as the bikes are supposed to be "revealed" at the show on the 17th. But since we're on the topic, I was in on Saturday as the Futura bike came back from the photog - oh man they're sweet pics - and got to gently caress their loveliness. It's mind boggling to be holding a frame only whilst being told it's insured for more than most houses. And that "Netti" said this or that about them... as in "Netti" Colnago! I don't go to strip clubs, I go to bike shops.
Ps. - Anyone go to the race yesterday afternoon? The city race.

They keep listing Mike as an independent but he rides for Caledon Hills club no?

Other way around, they started w/ the Caledon Hills thing but I had them change it. Apparently there's a guy out there who races w/ the same name as me (same middle initial even).

... of course, everything breaks, but that's still unsettling.
Edit:
It was right after a set of barriers. The fork gave out as he jumped back onto his bike, it looked painful. Face first into the ground. Other rides said the heard it crack earlier in the lap, but nobody is really sure.
Okay cycle pathologists, any idea what killed the fork?

I have seen a lot of busted forks over the years but I have never seen one break like that. Usually they break in the same spot on both legs. I would guess that this person had a head on with something at some point that cracked the one leg. Fatigue then finished the job. Check those carbon forks regularly folks.

I bro like Toby with a name like Toby lends himself well to nicknames... The Tobra Snake, The King Tobra, Toby Wan Kenobi... all perfectly fitting for the man himself.

heh.. I was just messing around on my bike for a couple minutes at lunch waiting to meeting The Missus and did my first backwards circle (1.5x around). I hadn't tried to do one in like 6 months and I did it on the first try. Couldn't repeat it though, but she showed up shortly after I did it.

The smokey (peaty) flavour is characteristic of the Islay malts like Laphroig (one of my favourite all-rounders) or Lagavulin. The Summerhill store has tastings (they've got a little bar in the back) so you can try a couple to find one that you really like. There's not a lot of Islay malts (that are affordable for me) so it may be worth it. Theres a Bruichladdich that's being discontinued (two bottles left at Summerhill) that I've been thinking of getting. Or you could get it and feed it to us!

hopefully that means the resale of the concepts will drop.. I've always liked those. Especially the matte black ones from a few years ago, although the white is pretty hot as well.

Do yerself a favour...if you are gonna spend dough on a nice frame don't buy one with an integrated headset. Although I will allow $1850 is a good deal for that as speced.

I am somewhat put off by the integration... and the tubulars .. IF BIG IF this came off ....this would be the velodrome ride. I've been quoted 1400 for the ARgon18 Electron..hmm also integrated. Any non-integrated suggestions? I know that being able to tear out the HS is more preferable. What's the logic for integrating anyway?

I didn't know that Mavic made a tubular version of the Ellipse...thought they were clincher only. I don't know what the going rate for the frameset is but with that spec you could almost buy it...keep all the components..sell off the frameset add a few bucks and buy a better frame. I know everyone has a hard/wide-on for Bianchi's, but they are not what they used to be. I would rather have a steel Marinoni frame than that.
The only arguable reason for integrated H.S. is looks. In every other category integrated sucks. See Chris King's site for a better explanation...he knows a thing or 2 about headset design.

from the rep :
The bike will come to you with some minor assembly, but I cannot specify how ride-ready the bike would be (the bike has tubeless tires that probably need assembly).
Tubeless tires... sounds like tubulars to me or tubeless clinchers?
The whole idea of integrated HS sounds crazy .. locking the steering mechanism to the frame.
Like making a car with the wheels welded to the frame.

The only 'road' tubeless wheels right now to my knowledge are the Shimano dura-ace wheels, so if he says 'tubeless' I assume he means tubular.

So, The Band (http://www.myspace.com/softcopy) got offered a show on Friday night. 9:40 @ The Silver Dollar. $5 cover. If any of y'alls are interested in coming out and seeing us suck it up during our first public performance in ~1 year. :P
I'm not sure if I already mentioned this, but we're also playing another show next Thursday (Nov 8) at Lee's Palace. Not sure about the exact details with that one except that we're playing at 10:15.
That is all.

It might also refer to the Tufo clincher/tubulars. Though I doubt it.
