This guy named Paul stopped to chat with me when he saw me locking up my paddy wagon in front of Freshmart in Kensington tonight. He had an unbranded blue steel fixed with a chrome fork and no brakes -- it looked like a well cared-for and used machine. He told me a story about the first time he fell over because of clipless and some skater kids gave him encouraging advice. "Out of the mouth of babes," he said. He was a really nice guy, very friendly and Canadian, and the experience made me glad to live in such a fine city. Cheers.

okay i don't have anything much to add in the way of bikes because i've been too busy to ride (but kudos to keith), but here is a public service announcement of the utmost importance:

do not go see stephen king's the mist.

quite possibly the worst movie ever made. bad actors, worse CG, and a completely botched execution of what could have been an excellent psychological thriller. not even good enough for a low budget tuesday afternoon made-for-tv movie on a sci-fi channel. even the usually reliable rottentomatoes.com has let me down, it has a 69% approval rating! argh!!

I've heard that thing rides ultra harsh, like a very stereotypical stiff aluminum frame.. RBYB (Ride Before You Buy). With that said, I've also considered taking one out for a spin. :)

Yeah it totally is! Don't get the Wolf fork though. The steerer tubes are to thin that we have to glue in an aluminum insert, so they can handle the pressure from the starnut. They're light, but I'd much rather have an Easton EC 90 or something. I'm sure they are strong enough if they are properly prepared but I dunno... All that extra effort for it to be a bit extra light... Seems like it's not worth it. They show pretty much all of the bikes with Wolfs on the website, but we ship many with Eastons depending on model. At least the guy who does fork preparation knows what the hell he's doing!

Yeah those look really nice. But I heard a LOT of these cracked. Just sayin'. Just out of curiosity if you don't want the words on it, then why does it have to be a Cervelo? Just get an older steel frame for a road bike. MUCH cheaper! :D

That's true. I just want something easily obtainable and not jacked up to sky high prices by the fixed gear hype. At the same time being NOS and good quality. Trying to turn my fixed gear into a jack of all trades bike is starting to get annoying pretty fast.

I'd like a nice road bike back in the stable.

I totally wussed out last night, after hauling the heavy-as-sin mountain bike up to pick my daughter up, I made the executive decision to just subway it home. I'm planning on hibernating as much as possible today with hopes of skating and snow-related fun tomorrow. Depends if this snowstorm thing comes through :)

PS, I got it Brad I'm just slower than molasses to reply ;)

what do you mean it handles harsh, wes? they could at least beef up the down tube a little and that might give it a little more stiffness.

PS2 here, though I totally wish for a 360 under the festive shrubbery....Assassin's Creed looks awesome.
Ain't gonna happen though. As for Cervelos, a steel Prodigy would fit the bill nicely, or the R3 cross would do in a pinch.....aw hell just about any one would do, who am I kidding?

Microsoft will never let that happen. The consumer can never think of the xbox360 as a "computer" only as an entertainment "system". That and the xbox'ers will get their *** handed to them by a mouse/kb. MS has gone out of their way to not support a keyboard/mouse implementation in both xbox legacy and 360.
