Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Noooooooo! Bob Barker FTW! :p

Always been a Jeopardy! fan, Wheel of Fortune is great too... Enjoy Keith, just don't let Oprah, Judge Judy and friends get the better of your sanity.

As for the document thingy, beer+BF member=PDF seems more reasonable, PDFs are fairly easy to deal with and are way more common place than having to deal with LaTEX or somesuch :p

ps. Y'alls are all making this overly complex. Just use Word, make it pretty and take the file down to Kinko's/print three/whatever and get it printed onto cardstock. Unless you're going for something way fancier than how I picture a printed poem..?

Any of you UofT peeps know if Hot Yam(!) is a regular thing these days? I went and got some food from them last March or something, but I haven't been back since. I thought I saw something about it this semester, but I didn't see a date. Not sure if that means it happens every day now or not.

Are you my Baby Daddy? Why are You wearing a dress now?

Homeland security has issued a statement that ALL new bike frames sold in America need to be made in America, as one official states. "Bikes can be pipe bombs and we can't risk importing that into our great land."

If one makes it all fancy in word make sure your True Type font has been embedded in the Word Doc before taking it anywhere. One learns not to trust MS anything to be printed beyond the immediate reach of the machine it was created on. Now saving it as a PDF has gotten better. Nothing makes things more maddening when fonts aren't embedded properly in a PDF sent offsite for printing.

Screw the clinchers.. 50mm tubs for $398! The 'words' are a little garish (and apparently under the clear coat), but for that price and <1500g I might be willing to ignore them. I also didn't realize before that the motobecane carbon frames ship without the decals applied, which is kinda cool. Not really that interested in those though anyway.

i rode this morning, plows hadn't come through the streets i take into work so it sucked, almost all jagged re-frozen slush

a lot of ice under fresh snow, i spun out a few times but no falls

Main streets + taking the lane is the recipe. Or sorta "secondary roads" that are well travelled but typically have lower traffic speeds (eg. Harbord, in my case). On my way in I generally take College and ride well out into the curb 'car lane' (since the bike lane is totally useless right now). Harbord I straddle the divider between the two lanes or the bike-lane divider.

My question: how does the city manage to RE-plow streets with like 0.5cm of new snow, but apparently can't plow the bike lanes?

No diss for Shapelike's fitting services as he's helped me a bunch in the past, but does anyone know of any shops/coaches/etc that do full fitting sessions with some sort of powermeter/spinscan/etc? Having some sort of quantitative element to bike fit interests me.

There will be a guy coming to town shortly that does awesome fittings. I know this guy...he is from Germany and works for, among others, TUNE components. He did one for Andrew Randall last time he was here to much praise. He does full bio-mechanics and SRM data analysis. It takes a full 6 hours and he will be doing appointment only at La Carrera.

They came down harbord and did the bike lanes yesterday. It's still better to ride in the main traffic lane though IMO 'cause the bike lanes just don't have enough traffic to keep them clear. I got to the supermarket (dundas/landsdowne nofrills) on Sunday after work to discover that what was once well used bike racks are now a big pile of snow and ice. I guess I should've bought enough groceries last time to last until March...

$400...$200 if you buy a bike. He is extremely well regarded in the fitting world. Philip Moeller is his name and he is originally from Freiburg. I have known him for many years and he is the $#!t when it comes to bike fit.

I say we get an old caddy and do it up right!

Better to get an old honda for lightweight!

The one in the video is an '82 buick regal limited. I've got a '78 regal sport coupe that you can have if you want it... just gotta go pull it out of my folks back yard.

Jerry-rigged fluorescent tubes do not a pleasant retail environment make. And there's a new forced air furnace that's been installed but still needs to be inspected before we can fire it up. Cable connection needs to be run again so in the meantime I'm sneaking up to the old space to check email, etc.
