Keep getting my clothing wrong this week, was WAY too hot this morning, yet when the wind gusted, not so much. Maybe I need to get a lightweight windbreaker shell.
Buy a good wicking underlayer to wear against yer skin. Then a wool layer....then a good shell. This has been all I have needed thus far this winter. I keep an extra windstopper layer in my bag in case it gets colder.

Thanks.
I think wool is the missing piece, my baselayer is good, but I've been using long-sleeve COTTON t-shirts in the middle and fleece/wool top layers, and with the warmer temps the cotton is ****ing me over and getting sweaty, then cold. I keep my goretex waterproof in my bag, but that's pretty hot to wear just as a windbreaker.
I think I have a torn rotator cuff on my left shoulder, I've switched to the backpack from the messenger bag as that seemed to be hindering. Now I have to go visit the doctor and get it checked damnit.

Where in the **** should I get some Velocity Aeroheads from? Urbane (read: carrie, or however you spell his name) is being incredibly unhelpful about actually ordering me in any.
I'm fine with mail order if it comes to that. I've found places in the USA that appear to carry them, but I'd prefer to go with a source that someone has experience with.

Carey is pretty frumpy most of the time. but he does have some interesting things to say....sometimes.
I got myself a Walz cap and I"d def. recommended it! Its fits my big head better than any other!

Man, went into Urbane on lunch today, and I gotta say: I'm digging the design of their Reynolds 531 Urbanite road frame. $575 is insane to pay for 531 and a chrome fork, but man, those seat stays are nice!

It is indeed - Sara shot it and I retouched it. Which one's your's? Did you hear about the gallery thing that's happening? I want to print a thing or two and put some work up. If you're thinking of doing the same, give Tricera Imaging a call. They're really good for printing at decent rates.
ah ha - a joint effort :)
yeah, the organizer sent me info about that. i didn't know there was going to be an exhibit! it's been years since i've had a gallery show! i told her i didn't have prints, and that it was taken digitally. (my SLR has been out of commission since someone dipped it in beer.) she hasn't said anything so far, but i'll keep your suggestion in mind. the shot she posted on bike lane diary isn't my favourite of my submissions "photographically", but it fits the poster medium.
so yeah:

G'luck with that one, I missed the snow this morning by an hour (late ride in) but I did get to have a blast down Kingston Rd/Dundas coming from my daughters preschool show as a change of pace. I even changed gear to 52/17 for a bit, woo! :p

o rly? I was actually surprised at how fine my cx tires were on the pavement.. then again, it was also on a geared bike that I've never ridden with smooth tires, so I don't really have any comparison! :) But they're pretty aggressively knobbed (that's what she said) tires -- Michelin Muds.

Just beware as to how the knobs aren't staggered. This could allow the whole tire to slide to the side once it loses a bit of grip..

Hehehehehehe you said knob and grip.
About to head out, can't see what King is like from my window, I'm assuming it's not all so bad.
I'd take Harbord, probably less hectic than College, and once the bikelane ends on College I can't help but sometimes feel "iffy" on there.
I might head east tonight, but I'm going home first... Brant/Augusta are usually my side-street testers on my way up to Queen.
Watch out for those grids/covers!

HAHAHAHAHA. Man I forgot how bad that thing is. It looks like ****! So let's see. In the description he indirectly comments on why people think it's **** (wrong front wheel size, ****ty cranks etc.) and says he will fix it up. But in the mean time you can still get the current ****ty version for $8000! Classic! haha. With regards to the front wheel size, instead of moving up to 650, he should just go all out and put a BMX wheel on the front for the ultimate saddle to bar drop. It will be way more comfortable like that too obviously.
I went for a lovely ride at lunch today! Woo what a blast. Ridiculous headwind. Eyewear was a must for sure...

I will take a brand new "Futura" Master Pista with all Campy Record and have several hundred bucks left over instead. Thanks for the opportunity tho. ;)

Check the Buy and Sell Magazine....I have picked up many sets for cheap over the years. You really have to abuse them badly (how do you do that? I am not sure) to wear them out so used is the way to go. I got my current set for $75.
