Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone up for a quickie tomorrow (Thursday)? I know I'm going to need a break from packing, and it will be my last chance for a ride because when I get back I'm going to have to break the bike up and box her up!
second time's the charm???? what time are you thinking of riding...

I'd love to join you guys...but I am likely going to be asleep...working midnights on my day job this week...but if by chance you see a guy on a sweet blue track bike...that will be me :)

the TBN ride is on Saturday (I was thinking of popping by for a little spin). Its only 35km but since Saturday is supposed to be cold and rainy, 35km might be just enough.

Hope to hell Saturday isn't like that, it'll make my evening job that much harder. And if it really is going to be cold/rainy, i'm probably not going to show up. It's 38km from my house to the start point.
On the contrary can't wait to go riding today.

bikeophile, are you forwarding some of the ebay/craigslist postings to keith? i know keith's picky about his sizing but there has been some nice postings lately. like this 58cm rossin. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=98084&item=7156115516&rd=1)

shiznaz and operator, thanks for meeting up! it was a nice break. all that whopper-talk from shiznaz got me hungry for some grease.. so it was a $3.99 double cheeseburger combo for me at mickey-dees. i'm regretting it.
bikeophile posted info about the toronto "ride for silence" on may 18. check it out. (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=106323)

Rofl, nice meeting you gokiburi. Hope your full now! On the other hand, I bonked on my way back (very light breakfast, drink for lunch). Last 8km was HELL. I couldn't even maintain 16kph, on top of that there was a headwind. I knew I should've picked up something to eat at chinatown.
Thanks for the 3m adhesive stickies shiznaz, have fun in France.

No I haven't been sending any postings to Keith, in fact I haven't been even looking at them myself. The frames that Keith and I are building right now includes a frame for Keith that is modelled exactly after his old 59cm Rossin Track frame which apparently is the best fitting frame he's owned.
That 58cm looks nice, but likely small for Keith, since he rides a 59cm Rossin normally. That is nice though.

Guys...was thinking of a little ride/eat tomorrow afternoon...Some BBQ pork buns in China town perhaps? If anyone is interested....130pm in front of the wheat sheaf...seems like that's your normal meet up!

thanks to everyone who showed up for the impromptu chinatown bun ride.. not even getting split up 1 minute into the ride could keep us from our destination: the heavenly kim moon bakery on dundas. damn, we bought a lot of buns.

i...uh....well...your buns were good too...sooo full....
Thats the best part of being the only dude with a bag and a bad memory.....buns galore!!!! ooph!
Hopefully Chris made it home safe and sound!
I bumped into a messenger buddy of mine and we rode around for a bit...he is working for 2 messenger companies at once right now....too funny...when he gets enough calls, he turns off his radio until he catches up!!
I have a little road trip to take you guys on next time...west end...kind of an exploration...if we find the place I think we will....it wil be like a pot of gold...don't bring wallets though...otherwise we'll do something silly and impulsive....I'll tell you about it more later...

Not sure about this weekend...but I might be riding this Friday again...was thinking of a nice quick spin up the Don Valley trail (up to Eglinton and back) and then maybe hitting...oh I don't know...KIM MOON?
by the way...im off to the post office to see if my levels showed up....Cam, there might be some black ones in there ;)
Hopefully my tax refund will be here this week. I'm working Friday, so I'm not on.

I work full time so I'll never be able to make it out to these middle of the day rides. Sometimes I'll work late (like till 8 or 9pm) that's when I find downtown is a deadzone, sometimes despite working the previous 12 hours I'll just end up rolling around the city for a couple of hours longer. Night rides are great in the middle of the week nary a car to be seen on most side streets.

no problemo...we'll make it another time then :)
Cam, the hubs are even nicer than we thought they'd be...I am going to post pics of the black ones later tonight...
I have only been able to make the afternoon rides because I've been stuck on midnights..and Fridays I try to stay up after my shift...I should be switching back to days within the next few weeks though...

the days are getting longer but nothing like a nice ride in the city when the lights have gone down. i finish work at around 8pm and nothing relieves stress more than getting out and riding.
rob, i had no idea the levels hubs were so beefy. the one you have on your rear wheel looks like a fookin artillery shell. quite the contrast with the miche you're running up front.
i'll be making a kim moon run but without the don-valley-trail detour unfortunately...people at work have expressed interest in bbq pork buns.
