Did a walk of shame tonight, luckily it was close to home at Queen/Jameson hence the walk (no point dicking about with **** on the street if I'm close to home). I'm heading to the show on Saturday rain or shine, but I'll be at the mercy of kid-timing - I figure I'll bring us down there for around 11/lunchtime so I don't have to do a crazy morning rush thing.

Snow schmoe, bring it on I say :p

I'll likely be heading over Friday afternoon around 2:00 or so.

And I likes snow. Rain and freezy goo not so much.

I was paying my bills. I had no internet thanks to water getting into the something-or-other box which was inside the fire zone down on Queen. The bell technicians could not get access to said box because it was inside the fire restricted zone. Unfortuneately, they did not feel like informing us of that until yesterday. So we had 6 mysterious and annoying days without internet. Bell can kiss my digital ass.

I just emailled a guy about a frame he is selling on CL and he said he will be going down to the bike show to sell it....how does that work? Is he going to stand in front of the show, hawking his wares? Or maybe he works at a shop and his boss okay'd him bringing his own frame?

It didn't seem too slippery on the sidewalks today. I'm not sure what that means for the road.

Won't you still be somewhat reliant on Bell for DSL services regardless of whom is providing them?
Teksavvy is a bulk reseller no? I see no mention of dedicated networks.

Other than the standard issue SIDI Dominators? :) I love mine. They seem to keep getting more comfortable as time goes on.

I've heard good things about Specialized shoes, but I've never tried any. I say just try on a bunch and see what fits best.

i like specialized shoes because they tend to fit a bit wider, especially in the toe box.

My main concern with Sidi is the $260 MEC wants for them. For that cash, they'd better last 4 years or more, especially when my $130 Specialized Sport MTBs lasted for 3 years. I wonder if there's loot to be had at the bike show, or if I should just man-up and shell out for the Sidis.

Option B: I steal my sisters slim jeans and get some chuck taylor's & clips+straps.

I_bRAD
03-07-08, 09:29 AM
I've got a pair of sidis that I've had since '01 or so and they're still going strong. 10-12 years is not unreasonable if you take care of them.

jeremywhitehorn
03-07-08, 10:08 AM
the only reason i ever bought sidis is because i got a deal on them. come to think of it, the best shoes i ever had were a pair of shimano MTB shoes from the early 90s. i had them for 10 years i think. pink and purple too!

i believe they're the "comp" model, three velcro-straps. i used them for a season of dry sunday road rides. they're still clean.

it's these (black) ones:

I can recommend Teksavvy. Although I'm currently in Waterloo, they've been nothing but good :) and pretty cheap given that I split it between 9 other roomates. haha.
no bandwidth limitations from what I can tell either.

Hey all.. just caught up on the last few days of posts. Wednesday ended up being an interesting day, starting with a CT scan and ending in an appendectomy. I'm back at home, minus an appendix/plus a few holes in weird places. Make sure to take London pics (if anyone actually goes), post some pics of your bike show swag, and I'll check in again soon.
