does anyone know of any good Sprocket's that can take the abuse of sprocket slides and stuff like that...what about a good chain that can take the abuse as well?....i was think something along the lines of a Shadow Interlock chain with an Odyssey compact chainwheel with a compact gaurd..33t

if you want to learn that stuff, i suggest getting a 44t blackjack and a 3/16 chain

why not the 36t version...you can still slide with a smaller sprocket... but i like the fact that it has a huge chain...thanx..

but with a bigger sprocket it is easier to get onto the ledge

No, it's not any easier to get on the ledge/deck with a larger sprocket.
And the Shadow chain? Stupid idea.

well, it's not easier to get on but it is easier to learn to stay on because there is more to grind with

Shawdow chain is good for lower gearing.

the only chains i would use would be the 410 or 510. most likely the 510, it's stronger

I'm waitin for my Kmc Z chain that came stock on my fit to snap.

you would kill a 510 sprocket grinding if your getting one get a 410h or a KMC 415 and a 36t black jack

Really. That's funny, because the 510HX is stronger than the 410H, dumbass. It's the exact same chain, but with mushroomed pins so the sides don't blow out so easily.
And what's my favorite trick, you ask? Sprocket slides. And what chain do I use? The 510HX. And how often does it break? Once a month, tops. I broke a 410H five times in two hours.

first of all no need for a smartass attitude and also if you break your chain even once a month you should give up on sprocket slides..... ive been riding a KMC 410h for like 6 years now its gone thru sprocket slides and 4 different gear ratios and its fine... so i would take my 410h over a 510 anyday.

Well, he must not be doing very many sprocket slides if he's never broken it. I do several hundred of them in a given month, and I don't run a guard.

He use to do sprocket grinds, but now he mostly dose sprocket stalls since he is running 30 11 gearing.

If you want a SUPER beefy sprocket try the poverty boss cog.

i don't think they make 36t blackjacks in 3/16. if you use a 3/16 chain on regular teeth, the teeth become very thin and they snap off.
i broke a 415 chain while doing a sprocket grind down a rough, unwaxed concrete ledge.
wow... what a dunce. if you have a chain for 6 years (i doubt it will last that long), just buy a new one. they cost about $15 .

whats wrong with the Shadow chain...isnt it supposed to be stronger since its made with half-links???
then which chain do you sugest???

He already suggested some chains, just take a few seconds to look at some of the posts istead of making people anwser you with your own little special post. Yeeaash.

It may be "stronger" than a normal chain (which it's not), but the chain stretch issues with half-links in general negate any pros for the chain; a normal chain will last you a while if you're not doing any sprocket tricks on it, but a chain amde entirely of half-links under the same conditions won't last half as long because the chain will stretch much faster.

ya mean 3/16" teeth and 10 mm thick. It is one seriously beefy sprocket. I ran it for a while and people were pretty awed at its sheer beefyness.

it is identical to the blackjack. almost everything made by poverty is a knock off of another product

that's whats pretty cool about it. may not be as strong, but almost, at a fraction of the price. i wouldn't trust poverty for anything else
