Foo - What NOT to say if you're the Govenor of Colorado...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Isn't that just an expression?

My photo teacher says that all the time. When we start acting up she kind of mutters "Better get 'em something to do. The natives are getting restless..."

Doesn't he have a pregnant mistress? Don't listen to me though, I'm convinced Hickenlooper is a drug dealer. No one believes me.

Yeah, Owens is a total moron. But he's a devout Republican moron who toes the party line, which makes him dangerous as well.

That sucks, but it could have been a lot worse. He could have been WAY more racist then just saying "the natives". Still a wrong thing to say.

yeah, i've heard it used before. still, given the context, the governer came off really badly. definitly a mistake, but i don't think it deserves to be blown out of proporation either.

well, the thing is, politicians -- our leaders -- are supposed to be smarter than us. They're supposed to know not to say something controversial in a setting like that.

If it's okay to be an idiot and make politically incorrect jokes, then I'm going to run for office too. Do you really want that? ;)

I am so tired of political correctness and being
afraid of saying anything that might possibly be
taken the wrong way.
Of course on the other side there are those who
will take offense at anything.

Pretty funny if you asked me.

Not so politically correct Marty

Am I the only one thinking Owens has an eerie resemblence to a Kewpie Doll? I've always been suspicious he's really an alien robot sent to pave the way for the invasion of Earth. It's like an episode of the Twilight Zone! Hey, don't blame me, I was one of the tiny 10% minority bleeding-heart tree-hugging patchouli-wearing commie-loving "lie-berals" in the state who voted for the human guy, Bernie/Woodie/what's-his-face, instead. (We have a soft spot for real people, instead of automatons, you know...) Conservatives ("Cons" for short...it suits them) will vote for any old alien infiltrator as long as he keeps the taxes low. I, for one, welcome our new Venusian Overlords! Zibxx qombot!

The "Governator" of California took a bunch of money from the execs of some big corporations that own hospital chains. So, now the "Governator" wants to repeal a law that requires that a hospital have nurses on duty 24 hours a day, on each floor of a hospital. Hospitals would be MUCH more profitable if you could fire half the nurses.

The nurses of California objected. When a group of nurses (about 95% females) held a protest outside a room where the "Governator" was speaking to "his" people (rich fatcats), he boasted "I will kick their asses".

Nothing tougher than a former weight-lifter "kicking the asses" of female nurses.

However, then his security people saw a female nurse in the audience. Ahnold panicked, and had his security detail arrest her and remove her from the building. He is only "movie star" tough, not "duke it out with a nurse, tough".

Then, there was the former Governor of Texas, talking about proposed longer sentences for ****. "What's the big deal...why can't women just lay back and enjoy it..."

And, a more recent Governor of Texas, getting ready to sign-off on the first execution of a woman in Texas in half a century. Speaking before the press he said "I have prayed, and prayed, and based on prayer, I feel it is my duty to carry out the sentence of the jury".

Privately, before just one reporter, he then put on a squeeky little female voice and pretended to be the woman being executed: "Ooh, Ooh, Governor, please save my life, I'm a Christian...please, in the name of Jesus, spare my life". And then he broke out laughing, and laughing. At her. And at the voters who are dumb enough to fall for his "I prayed and prayed..." line of bunkum.

But, if politicians are dumb, what about us? We are the ones who elect them.

They're already polling him for '08, but his recent marital troubles have hurt him pretty badly with the "family values" crowd... so we'll probably be spared a cantidacy.
