Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Quebec SSers?

With spring rolling around, new bikes are popping up everywhere, but so far, I've only seen one fixie during the winter months. It was a flipped-and-chopped-drops road conversion locked up at the university.

So, anyone here from quebec city, canada, or who knows anyone who knows anyone? With all the people around, I'd be dammed if I couldn't find another fixie.

This is just in case. I'm getting pretty giddy from all the sun we've been having.

I don't live there, but my girlfriend just moved there so I'm there every other weekend.

Still building my bikes though, and the fix probably won't be going anywhere the pente douce, or the pente not so douce on Salaberry.

Anyone familiar with the Louis Garneau Velodrome there? I'm going to take their "learn the drome" course in the spring. If there's a drome there have to be fixers somwhere, though I did go to one of the shops that has a sponsor flag on the side of it, and they totally stunk (and had no track stuff either).

I have found no shops whatsoever that carry track stuff around, which is why I am not getting my hopes quite high. Last I checked, the velodrome is in a catastrophic state, for it is wooden and open-air, and not covered in winter. The result is a track that is both wobbely and stiff. Rode once, disregarded afterwards. I have however learned that the local bike association is supposed to fix it up. To be continued.

While you are in quebec, I would suggest you try the cote d'abraham, which is from the lower to the upper city, followed by honoré-mercier, then turn right on rené-lévèques, which gets the cardio pumping. Slightly.

i thought you were talking about my winter bike for a minute and then i read further and saw it was quebec city...oh well
