Hello - I'm a newbie in the truest sense. To this forum and to cycling. I've been a swimmer and water polo player my whole life, and have also done some running off and on, but now I'm branching out. I think my interest started during the Tour de France last year. I watched A LOT of OLN... So I started "spinning" at my gym at the beginning of the year and then I did a little 13 mile MTB ride a few weeks ago and LOVED it. But I'm actually interested in road biking. I liked going uphill, but was pretty much too wussy to enjoy going downhill on all those rocks and gravel!
Anyway, I'm researching my first bike (found the excellent thread on bikes under $700) and hope to buy that in the next week or two. And I'm going to do a triathlon in July.
It's a bit overwhelming - there seems to be so much to learn - but there certainly are a plethora of resources and opinions on this site.
Cheers!
