This question has always bugged me. What do the symbols next to topics mean? Sometimes the letter is orange and sometimes its more of a yellow with an arrow. What does it all mean?

Joe also, what makes a light bulb flash and titles bold? It really helps if the newer ones were in bold and the lights were on for the topics that had convo. The thing is that sometimes when I reload the page (or the forums) all the bulbs are white and all the titles are unbold, and wheni go to view new topics its says there are none when about 2 secs ago I saw like three pages.


Oh and why does :D turn to this :d It really is annoying.

Red= Online, Black = Offline. :D

Black = User is not logged in

AND for those who want a tip if you didn't already know, when posting it is quicker and easy to hold down Alt then press the letter' 's' when submitting your post. It saves going back to the mouse and havn't unessesary clicking, just ALT then S. ;)

I stublemed upon it by accident, because i'm so used to doing it in other forums, and amazingling to workded :D. Just makes it is so much easier, cause i sure hate changing from keyboard to mouse :S

It works in Mozilla which means it likely works in Firefox, Netscape and possibly Camino as well.

I think it is just a new message in the same thread since the last time you logged on. If you log out and back in, the "new" should be gone. It is an easy way to pick out the new messages in a longer thread if you don't want to pick through the ones you have already read.

You could always click "mark all forums as read" when you log out.

A yellow lightbulb next to a forum means there are new posts in there since your last visit.

A white lightbulb next to a forum means there are no new posts since your last visit.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but a thread becomes "hot" after 10-20 replies.
