Books, Movies, Music & Entertainment - Sin City and Symbolism

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
In high school I had an English teacher that was huge into symbolism. In fact, that's all we studied. In Sin City the color red was used extensively, blue was used a couple of times, green once and then orange. Any ideas on the meanings? I loved the movie by the way. I think I will go and see it again.

if you're interested in this idea, you should check out the movie 'hero'. tons of symbolism through colors in that movie as well.

There were also obviously placed crosses here and there, usually more associated with the underword rather than the cops, the church or organized government.

I disagree with blue being innocence. Remember Rafferty's car is blue.

Simply a statement that things are not necessarily what they seem, and often are the opposite of what they seem. Great, artistically done movie!
