Bicycle Mechanics - Sticker removal?????

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone have any quick and easy (McGiver type) solutions to removing the glue after I pull the corny stickers off of my bike?

It depends on what kind of "glue" is left on your bike. Since bike surface is smooth and glossy, you can try the rubber pad avaliable in a Art supply store. Just ask for the rubber pad used to remove rubber cement.
If it doesn't work, it means that it will be hard to remove. Most of those removers you see on TV do not work. However if you use anything too strong, it will damage the surface paint of your bike( unless it's on naked metal like seat support). It's hard to find the right chemical. Just hope that the rubber pad works for you. good luck!

WD-40 works too

I was also going to suggest WD-40 it works great! Spray a little on a rag and rub away the sticker remains.
PB Blaster is good as well.
If it's really stubborn, take a hair dryer and warm the area first. The heat will soften the adheasive and make removal easier.

Be careful when you use WD-40. Since it's oid-based, you need thinner or some sort of solvent to completely clean it off. However, the solvent may damage your frame's top coat of paint, so be aware of what will damage your bike and what will not.

I recently had to remove some stickers from the windows of my new SUV and they left some residue behind. I actually use the same stick the go back and pick up all the sticky crap it left behind. The sticker has to be in relatively new condition for this to work but just re-stick the sticker repeatedly back on the area rubbing it good each time and it should stick to and pick all the residue.

Good and bad news for you. My dad is a chemical engineer and he just got this formula that can easily remove paint and even sticker remains.
The bad news is we are in Taiwan and we have not yet offically marketed the product internationally yet. If you live in Taiwan you can find it in B&Q.

No it won't. My dad can adjust the level of efficiency easily. I just tried it on my car.
