Recumbent - Homebuilt High Racer

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone built a high racer? I want to build a Bacchetta Clone with dual 26 inch wheels for touring.

Like this? I built it last year from junk parts, to test the geometry an upcoming carbon version. I like it enough that if the carbon version doesn't turn out, I plan on buying a nice chromo frame and re-doing it with good parts.

That is one amazing race recumbent. Bring it to the HPV races and "smoke" the stock racers with it.
Where is the coroplast front bubble? You can use your coroplast bubble for SuperStock after you race Stock.
Riders who can "smoke everyone" on the roads will have no problem racing both HPV Stock and HPV Superstock racing at the same event.

give it up. we aren't wasting our time at Indy. Waiting for waterford and northbrook. I did Indy a couple years ago and it was a big waste of time. Yeah......lets drive 6 hours to race a total of 1 1/2 hours for the entire weekend.......... no thanks.
At least at the black bear you can race at least 4 hours or so.

Are you backing away from spuds' challenge to race at Indy?
You only like to race on playstation II and the X box??
Thats ok, I like to 'race' indoors in front of the TV too. My thumbs get tired though.

spuds won't be racing at Indy. He will be sitting at the keyboard waiting for the racing results to show up. Indy is too far a drive for us. northbrook is closer as well as waterford and graylilng. I'm not backing away from anything.........just not stupid enough to drive 6 hours......get a hotel room for 2 nights for a lousy hour and a half of racing in the spring where if it rains.......the race gets cancelled and you are out a bunch of money and can't even race.

I don't have a playstation or xbox. I race on the Tacx imagic site against other I-magic users in the winter.

"Imagic" sounds like a Mickey Mouse toy.
Better eat some PBjs when you play with that thing. The sugar in the jam will give you the boost you need to virtual race. The PB will give you the protein you need from depleting your muscles after your virtual race on a trainer stand.

spuds, you were MIA for 5 days man! Thought you were gone (seriously).
btw, I'll be at indy. I'm bringing my Aqua-Cycle HPV, I replaced the pontoons with PBJ floaters --sweet setup.
We tried at first using brownberry whole grain and the damn thing sank. Last week we took it out using wonderbread for the PBJ floaters --worked like a charm!

lowracer1,
The elite HPV Spuds McDoogle racing team will be at Indy rain or shine. There are tires made for rain traction that all Spuds racers use on wet roads.
I enjoy your weather prediction for rain at Indy. Did you buy the crystal ball to predict weather at the same place you got the Mickey Mouse Imagic toy? Will it be raining at NB?
All the Indy racers will be disappointed you decided to not race other recumbents. THO no surprise.
BTW looks like you will be able to race in Fenton at the 100k. All you have to do is ask the race director politely for an HPV class.
