Weather (http://www.weather.com/activities/travel/businesstraveler/weather/tenday.html?locid=FRXX0084&from=36hr_fcst_business) looks pissy until Saturday and Sunday. Perhaps the rain will linger a while, long enough to muddy the race.

I think Hushovd has the right stuff to win this race eventually; no time like the present.

Don't you mean 04/10/05, and not September 4th?

Europeans typically put the day of the month before the month.

Weather forecast: cold, windy, and RAIN.

Let's hope it's another mudbath.

If its a mudbath look for the northern Europeans.
I'd like to see Devolders do well here, at least
top 5 placings (no, no bets here, it is PR after all).
Boonen or PVP is my guess at winner.

If Hammond is recovered from Wedneday's spill, then he could contend if the weather is bad.

After hitting that lantern post  in Gent-Wevelgem?

Bäckstedt was interviewed during today's stage in Pais Vasco. He had originally thought that he broke his wrist in Gent-Wevelgem, but it felt better today. He was clearly disappointed in the way G-W ended, but except for the wrist his condition was good..

Does anyone know of anyplace to watch this live on the internet?
I dont care if its payperview, or in another language even, i just want to see it live.

Anyone notice how T-Mobile has started to shape up during the last couple of races? As a team, they're a factor in these races. Question is, can any one of them win?

I'm sentimental.

Tafi.

The 1999 edition was outstanding. Tafi was a brute, relentlessly attacking the lead group until he shed them for good and won solo. It will be a real shame to see him go. Io Tifo Tafi!

Tom Steels was incredible for Tafi and Mapei in that race and he is my sentimental choice for tomorrow. After a bout with mononucleosis that seemed to last for two years, he has great form, some early season wins and he rode a strong race at Gent-Wevelgem.

I realise the chances here are relatively small but this is P-R and only the cobbles know.

Forget Tafi's Chorus components. How about some of T-Mobile's rigs? You've got to see the cantilever brakes on Wesemann's rig. Hole drilled through the stem for the cabling. And an aluminum frame for Zabel? What on earth is he thinking?

Check out cyclingnews.com's tech section for the low down. Fascinating.

For Tafi's bike I just wonder WHY he uses Chorus.

I noticed the cantilevers on Wesemann's bike. He used the same bike last year...

...and he will use it again today. Apart from the 2005 paintjob I don't see any difference...

Boonen.

I'm with DD, though. It'd be cool to see Hincapie win.

I'm with you. Andrea would have deserved a victorious farewell to the pavé. If only because he loves it so much:

Sad to see another one of my heroes hang up his bike.
