Wooo Woooo!!!:fun:

I finished the TNT Tahoe Century ride this past weekend. It was awesome! Met great people, saw wonderful scenery, and got lots of support. And what hills!!! wow!!!! Both up and down!!!
It took me about 8 hours and 20 mins of ride time to finish. About 10-10 1/2 total. I want a new bike now .. speedier! :)

I felt like I could have gone another 10 miles at the finish with all the cheering and high fives! So if you are thinking about a century, TNT fund raising is a great way to break into it.

You avg. about 12mph throughout the whole ride. Regular people who drive their cars don't realize how far and fast you can go with a bike.

What did you do to prepare for your century, I would like to try a century one of these days.

I live in Wisconsin where it can be pretty chilly til late April....or even thru May for that matter. I took spin classes 4 times a week, did a little weight training 2-3 times a wk, and did progressively longer Saturday rides.... started at 35 and ended up at 75.
Started at the end of March.

It's a mental thing too...gotta get psyched up for time in the saddle.

I have a Cannondale Silk Path...hybred. Would like a touring/cyclocross bike with speed that can handle any terrain. Skinny tires and gravel give me the heebie jeevies!

a century ain't so bad. After hearing people RUN centuries... I figured biking 100 miles doesn't seem so bad..

yep.... would like to do another. it is an awesome feeling finishing that finish line.

and when i found out that on average, a person burns 3000 calories on a century..more if out there longer.... I was psyched to chow down on the road and after!
Man...did I crave protein for 2 days after!!!

Yay! Great news.

One day, I aim to do that too. When I've grown up. Or maybe when I've grown back down again!! :)

Hey moozer....congrats! Thats going pretty big! I've just started riding, and 100 miles might as well be 1000, cause I'm not gonna make it all the way. Maybe someday.

Nice work!

Now you have to aim and try to go for a double century
