three that I got from netflix this week....Underworld Evolution....I liked it annoying subtitles I couldn't get off the DVD though. A History of Violence...liked it...but I'm a big Cronenberg fan so I might be jaded. And last but not least Hostel...whoa not what I expected. I watched it two days ago and it still running in my mind....uber creepy.

Just got the anamorphic SE version of Conan The Barbarian so I had to watch again for about the fifteenth time.

Although I have no familiarity with euro long sword techniques, I'll have to say that Arnold's moves when going through his kata are very impressive. His handling is fluid and the sword angle (what the japanese call hasugi) when making his cuts appear straight.

Barry Smith and John Buscema defined Robert E. Howard's Conan in Marvel comics. The movie with Arnold Schwartznegger was a very poor rendition.

I just re-watched Conan after a decade, and I must say (as a euro-fencer and aikidoka) that the sword work was spot on!

Right, when I first saw it at the theater I fell asleep near the end, and later couldn't remember most of it.

Right on. By chance did you ever read the mini-bio of Ueshiba Morihei at the beginning of the book Budo: Teachings of the Founder of Aikido? It seems that he was very accomplished in Iaijutsu and kendo as well.

Watched Prime on Saturday and the Producers on Sunday.

Prime was an enjoyable movie, very funny in places.

The producers was slow to start, but once it started it wa funny, but only if you like Mel Brooks style of comedy.

Jurassic Park III - Joe Johnston

Not my choice, but actually not that bad for a part III, in my opinion. Kept my attention, at least. I don't think I ever saw the second one.

Just watched Friends With Money last weekend. While it had its moments, don't waste your money.

Eh, I've seen worse, but it took me about a week to actually finish it.

Walking Tall - Kevin Bray
Not bad for a remake. Seems a lot more "poetic license" was taken with the story this time 'round, not that the original was very accurate to begin with. Still, it held my attention.

Rashamon and V for Vendetta

Both pretty darn good. V may be Natalie Portmans best effort to date.

Rashamon was outstanding as usual for a Kirosawa flick. I'm so glad that Netflix has them all. Blockbuster really sucks as far as selections of obsure movies go. Are they still in business?

Ultraviolet was ok as far the story goes, but the special effects and well, Mila...you get where i'm going here.

JAWS: 25th Anniversary Widescreen Collector's Edition - Steven Spielberg
Go Diego Go! - Wolf Pup Rescue

That's what happens when you let a two year old pick the DVD's for the night.;) I just hope JAWS didn't give him nightmares. Scared the crap out of me when I first saw it and I was a little older even.

I've finally hit a DVD that i couldnt bear to watch anymore about 1/2 way thru.

The Producers.

Not the original but the movie based on the Broadway show based on the movie. This is easily the worst thing Mel Brooks has ever has his name attached to.

I did finally after all these years watch The Thin Red Line. What a great movie.

Same here. I've tried at least 3x to get thru the first hour when Starz shows it. So far not successful. I just cant stay interested. Same with Chronicles of Narnia. Must be the kid thing. I just dont like movies that feature kids. To wit, I've never seen a single Harry Potter flick.

Unfortunaltely for Terry Gilliam, Time Bandits and Brazil seem to be the last great flicks he's done. Quite a shame that is.

I watched what could have been the wierdest, but compelling too, Vin Diesel movie ever, Find Me Guilty. It's a movie based on the longest mob trial in US history and the main protagonist was his own lawyer. Vin's hairpiece was a the star. He was quite good too.
