The Battle of Algiers - Gillo Pontecorvo

For a film shot in 1965, it is astonishingly relevant today. Excellent film. Intense.

Those BBC comedies are great! When they imitate some of them in the States (like The Office), something's lost in translation

layer cake, suprisingly good movie if your into this kinda genre-------some surreal camera work mixed with a decent soundtrack, plus a pseudo look into the coke business

Two nights ago I watched Trainspotting. Man, what a harsh film! However, if you can stomach it, it's a very good and very intense movie in a masochistic sort of way.

Trainspotting was good but a hard watch. All those people that claimed it would turn you on to Heroin must not have ever watched it.

yes-have you seen any of LvT's other films? I would take a look at Zentropa (Europa is the European title), and Breaking the Waves. Breaking the Waves is imho the perfect film. I would also check out Atom Egoyan's The Sweet Hereafter and Felicia's Journey as well, Egoyan is similar (imo) to LvT.

Ghost World

The great thing about Ghost World is that you can watch it multiple times and it's still as funny each time.

Pretty good. I really liked the FX. Glad I didn't re-read the book beforehand, tho. Probably would've picked too many nits.

I wonder if The Good Doctor would've approved....

Three Days of the Condor. Very good, and interesting accidental pick(I thought I was getting Last flight of the Condor). Timely with its relation to oil.

I liked Transporter as well. The next should be some good action. Makes me want to watch Snatch again.
