Lately I have watched A Lot Like Love (Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet) and Monster In-Law (Jane Fonda and J-Lo). Neither were really very memorable. Still to go is Wedding Date. I also have The Ring 2, but I won't be watching that one.

Constantine Not bad but the soundtrack was pretty muddy. Had to back and replay to catch some of the dialogue. If you want to spend $20 get the Graphic novel instead, "HellBlazer"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0360486/
I just watched Constantine last night. Not having read the "Hellblaxer" graphic novels, I was unfamiliar (and not biased) to the presentation of the story line. I liked it.
However, Keneau Reeves as Jonh Consantine?!?!? How wooden! IMHO Dennis Leary would have been great!

Ooo, I bet that would've been better casting. Haven't seen it yet, but the comic kicked ass!

Leary would have been great in the role. So would that guy in the Transporter flicks, just add hair.

I think that's an even better choice, myself. I can't imagine someone playing him who isn't British. I could've seen Gary Oldman playing him, he's always good at playing someone a couple steps away from madness.

I unfortunately rented Ring Two myself. I am a huge fan of horror and of course, as usual, the movie left everything to be desired. This was amongst the most boring movies ever made and had 0 horror in it. The creap factor was 0, gore factor 0, suspense factor 0. The only interesting part was seeing the girl crawling. Dang contortionists distrub me greatly. As with number 1, the ring series doesn't live up to much, definately not a worthwhile movie to watch...horror films have become a lost art, lost to the more boring uncreative producers it seems.

You're right about it being a lost art, seriously, in the last few years, the best horror films I've seen are Event Horizon, Jeepers Creepers, The Ring, Saw and Devil's Rejects. That's about it. I wish one of the masters like Craven or Carpenter would get their mojo back, but based on their last few efforts, I don't think that's realistic.

I plan to see Devils rejects tommorow, all good movies you have mentioned as well. Its in an 'old' theatre that plays month old vids. Ring, for me, was more of a suspense. It was signifigantly better than Ring Two. Saw kind of rocked my world. Definately a worthy movie. I just wish people making horror films now, would realize it isn't ALWAYS about the suspense. Horror is also supposed to be gore, blood, guts. Not subtle either. I want someones intestines spewing on the floor. I recently watched Conan the Barbarian (that was a pure action flick with some of the goriest scenes ever) again and action and horror are both suffering from the pc mindset. MOvies are trying to much cgi and creative suspense that I am missing that pureness of action/horror, action isn't meant to always be a thoughtful dramatic film.
Half the time movies labelled horror should be labelled thriller or possibly "suck ass"...horror movies today are made for the likes of my gf...thats just plain depressing

The Ring is actually a remake based on a hugely popular 1998 Japanese movie called Ringu:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0178868/
I remember Ringu as more violent, scarier, more exotic and less predictable… much better than either of the American-produced Ring movies. I’d call Ringu more of a thriller than horror. It got only an art house release in the U.S. but is available on DVD.

I have seen ringu as well, I watched ring and ringu at the same time, I generally love japanese movies so I was curious. Decent movie. I still found it more thrillerish than horrifying but a good movie none the less...

Went horror on saturday night.....watched "Sickle". Its got to have the worse picture ever! It was like it was filmed with a video camera. Other one was the "Ring 2", i defintaly prefered that over Sickle even though the Ring 2 was 'M 15+' and Sickle was 'R 18+'.

Watched AC/DC Family Jewels last night. It was so good. 10/10.
Watched 'The Chronicles of Riddick' last night. Vin Diesel is far from being a Shakespearean actor, but DAMN he's a great action hero!
