Greetings from Montgomery County. I have a XXL (63 CM) Gary Fisher Zebrano hybrid that I have been riding for 3 years. I have about 4K miles on it just from riding around here in The Woodlands. I am giving some serious thought to upgrading to a road bike - I would like to get in to road riding and do the MS 150 next year. I am looking to get advise, thoughts and ideas from the folks in this community before I jump in to any purchases. I am 52 yo, 6'6", 240 lbs at the moment (down from 285 in 2001). I wear a size 15-1/2 - 16 B shoe, depending on the manufacturer. I am in the early stages of researching equipment that will fit me. Thanks.

Welcome. You'll find a ton of info. here. Best advice when it comes to cycling clothes, shoes, equipment, etc. is do everything "in person" so to speak. Don't buy shoes, jersey's, shorts or a bike without trying them on for size. Manufacturers' sizes
differ. Good luck.
