Touring - Touring in Sweden

Hi

I'm currently studying in Sweden as an exchangestudent, and I wanted to spend my last few weeks (in july, that is) touring through the northern part. I haven't done stuff like that before, and I wondered what you people might suggest.

For example, I've got this bike, and I wondered if it's a bike that's allright for that...

I'm not going to buy another one, it'll just influence the duration of the trip :D

And things I should know about bags and stuff...

More details really are required unless you intend touring with a backpack and handlebar bag.

Is that a braze-on half way up the front fork? Does the front fork have eyelets at the dropout? If yes to both those questions, you can put on a low-rider rack with a pair of panniers on the front and basically be set to go with moderate-loaded touring.

Does the rear drop-out have eyelets, too? If not, then you might consider some sort of bag/pouch that hangs from the seat rails (as in Carridice bag).

You should be able to do some reasonable summer touring with a setup using that bike.

A bike with longer chainstays and fully fledged eyelets and braze-ons would be better. But not having one has not prevented many from having a good time cycle touring.

I have the same bike Gazelle Playa, that i'll use for my tour from Holland to Athens, Greece in about 7 weeks.
So far 500km's partialy loaded and 200km's fully loaded, NO PROBLEMS.
It cost me about 200 euro for Giant racks, AGU bags and rain covers, also 60 for the Brooks flyer saddle.

Bring mosquito repellent. My friend lives up north and his parents have a cabin even further up north, and he says the mosquitoes will eat you alive in the summer.
