Hey guys, just picked up a set of speedplay x2 s with cleats for $139. Less than 400 miles on them, in excellent condition. Did I get a good price, I hope so - wasnt thinking I would win.
Nikos,
yeah the price including cleats isn't bad.
a word of advice when you attach the cleat
to the shoes (not the shim to shoes) don't crank
down really hard on the 4 screws that hold the
metal cover on, it will make clipping in really difficult.
a drop of lube (white lightening) on the metal spring
in the cleat also helps
good luck,
Marty
thanks for the tip, I thought with the price at Nashbar being 164 for the x2s and the cleats being another 36 on top of that, 139 was a fair price - with 400 miles on them.

New pedals come with a pair of cleats. X2's usually sell for about $165, cleats included. Personally, I'd pay the extra $26 to get new ones.

Well, I didnt know that the cleats were included in the price. Considering I would have most likely bought a pair anyways - I dont feel to bad. I seller has perfect feedback and stated that they were in excellent shape.
Sorry about that, now that I think about it
the cleats I bought were a second pair for
the other pair of shoes.

Looking at my shimano shoes, they have the setup design for spd or look. Will the speedplay work in these shoes? I havent seen other shoes with a specific hookup for speedplay?
set them up like you would for
Look pedals, using the 3 hole
shim (I believe).
again check to Speedplay web site.

I have speedplay pedals with Addidas, and it has 3 holes too, somehow, i don't know why, the 3 hold shim/adapter doesn't allow me to screw all three screws in at the same time. I seems like the screw head is too big. Now i only have 2 screws on, seems to work, but i don't know if theres going to be any disadvantages to it. Anyone?

I've also got a pair of speedplays, I have to modify the soles of my shoes a little to get the cleat to fit. No major problems though:beer:

Modify? I don't get it. What kind of shoes do you have, and what kind of modifications did you do to it?
