I ride a 2001 jamis nova (57cm) with the stock cromoly fork. this has very large tire clearance which is much bigger than i need, I never run bigger than 32 with tread. the thing i don't like about the fork is that it makes the entire frame slope slightly upwards. I'm looking for a fork with slightly less clearance which will make the top tube level. I don't need more clearance on the front than the the rear and would rather have a straight aluminum fork. Does anyone know of a 1" aluminum fork that matches these specs and is still available. I would also consider another steel fork if it had no rake and less clearance.

Have you thought of the comfort issue with an aluminium fork...1. alu forks bang hard on my experience 2. straight forks are less comfy I believe... That adds up to make up a hard ride especially in cross.
Tell me if I'm wrong but this is my opinion
