Who do you think of when you hear the name Riddler? I have always thought of Frank Gorshin. Today I saw John Astin ( AKA Gomez Adams ) playing the riddler on the Channel 23 Bat a thon.Curiouser and curioser.I also had a chance to view Julie newmar as Catwoman,I was unimpressed. :o

John Astin only played the Riddler once, that was the quicksand cake one. Frank Gorshin was the "Riddler" to me. I like Julies catwoman, she played her the most. As a child I did not like Ertha Kitt, but love her now. Lee Meriwether only played catwoman in the "Batman The Movie" 1966, which I just recently purchased. Love it!! I truly believe they could not have picked a better "new" riddler than Carrey though. But he's no Gorshin for sure. :D

Frank Gorshin was the better of the two Riddlers. While Eartha Kitt's voice was......well...... "purrfect" for the role it's Julie Newmar that I imagine in the catsuit.

OK...So there's a story. The Batman series was noted for having "guest villains." Some of the fun was seeing well-known actors in silly, over-the-top roles. Malachi Throne was not especially famous at the time, and still isn't. He has done a lot of voice work, including voicing some villains in the recent Batman cartoon series. Anyway, Throne found out that some aspiring starlet in a minor role was being paid more than he was to appear in the show, got mad, and had his name removed from the credits. The Falseface make-up was such that it completely obscured Throne's face.

For a week, everyone wanted to know who played Falseface. Newpaper gossip columns were full of speculation. It created such a stir that Throne relented and had his name included in the credits of the second episode.

I loved that show. I was a little too young to catch all of the campiness, but I loved it.

When I was a kid I had the "Official Batman TV series guide book", I don't know if it's still in print, but it had all the facts and episode guides for the entire 120 episodes.

Did you know that after ABC (I think) cancelled the show, NBC was going to pick it up and renew it, but the idea got scrapped because they had already demolished the set.

Tough luck.

My great memory of Batman, the TV series, is twice a week, if possible, going to watch the show at the neighbors'.

Now I feel very old.You might be able to record Batman off of channel 23 WWME Tv if you can get it clearly in Dixon.It is on from 6pm to 7pm monday- friday.

Another thing about the show: Remember how they each had their poles labeled ("Bruce" and "Dick")? Did they really need to be reminded? Ever wonder if they'd gone down the wrong poles whether they would've come out as each other? Maybe Dick would've tried that once so he would've gotten to be Batman?

Sad to say, we'll never see Frank Gorshin as the Riddler or hear his maniacal laugh again. He passed away Tuesday at age of 72 from lung cancer.

I saw one of those modified Lincoln's at an auto show in Detroit when I was knee-high to something really short. Dang! It was cool!

Tim Burton came close to an authentic Batman, and Michael Keaton was great. Unfortunately, I thought Burton's weirdness and excess spoiled the movie. He was closer to a cartoon than to the comic book.

I am sooooo looking forward to Batman Begins. It looks like Bob Kane's conception of a troubled, dark, veangeful soul may finally have been realized on the big screen. I hope it doesn't suck.

I never got to see the batmobile, I remember it being at car shows in the early 70's. My brother had a diecast version of it, which I loved. But you know how well brothers like to share with little sisters.
