Getting back into cycling, or trying at least.

Started when I was in grade school

Gred Lemond was my hero back then, and still is now.

I don't think anyone esle has done it better then him.

Now I'm getting back into it during the Lance Armstrong era.

Bought a used Trek 1000 last year

nice bike, entry level, it's the red white and blue model BTW

I had outgrown my centurion lemans

I either go to the north branch trail, or the lakefront.

Lake trail can get annoying tho, so usually the north branch trail is where I ride.

Nice trail through the forrest preserve, almost always see some deer.

Couple of nice hills

can't think of anything else right now

if your in chi-town drop a reply

Hey Bender, Greetings from the Little Egypt part of the state. I wish I paid more attention what was going on when Lemond was King of the Tour. Cars, parties and Babes ruled in those days.Probably wasn't much coverage back then either was there?I saw a small segment on TV one time where Greg was talking how he might have won 5 times and how his injurys from being shot was a lot tougher to come back from than people knew. It's a shame Greg knocks Lance the way he is doing. But, I guess thats athletes with egos.

I have to disagree on the coverage of the Tour.Being able to watch the race live on OLN is bound to be better than any coverage they had in Gregs time.It is the best time to be a fan of any sport.Theres a channel for everything. You might have to shell out some cash to watch it, like Pay-Per-View,but its there.

hey there Bender :) Can you acquaint me with the North Branch Trail? Is it paved or dirt? Location?

I have been riding the lakefront as well, and on nice days it can get very crowded...going to try very early in the morning.

Thanks
