Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hey guys, how do you people treat your wounds? What do you people apply and what do you people eat to help heal your wounds faster? Any dos and donts? Just a question that struck my mind after I got injured in this evening ride, just slightly over 30 minutes, oh my, so spoilt a ride.
Have another thread in the General Discussions on the cornering safety, do share your comments there as well!

Depends what KIND of injury - I get em all the time :)
For flesh wounds I just use a little peroxide in the shower to get the dirt and stuff out - then bandaids until it stops bleeding.
For muscle injuries - RICE - rest, ice, something something. That's for the first 24 hours, then heat and stretching for the next few days.
For broken bones sticking through skin - go see a doctor :)

something something = compress and elevate I think.
If I am riding and I have a crash I find that getting on the bike asap can aid in keeping the joints moving and slowing swelling. (that is if it's not serious)
Ibuprophen is a godsend!
