I've read on this sight and on the IBOB site that you can't wrap your bars from the center and tuck the ends in if you have barcons. It just goes to prove that you can't believe everything you read on the internet. I think it looks terrible when bar wraps are finished off at the center with elecrical tape. Twine doesn't look any better to me. The bars on my Peugeot PX10LE are wrapped twice with cloth tape and the ends are tucked into the bars. The Suntour barcons went in without much trouble. Nothing more than a smack or two with the heel of my hand. You just have to make sure that the tape goes into the bars smoothly.
This is a bit of a rant, but I hope somebody finds the information useful.
I started at the barcons and ended on the flats. I bought some nice colored electircal tape that matched the bar tape and they looked great. My tape was way too fat to fit in the end of the bar with the barcons. My new Campy barcons also look too fat to fit.

I think the concern for starting in the center of the bars is that the overlap edge of the tape is facing up rather than down.
Cork tape tends to roll/tear easier when the bars are wrapped this way.
Rant on.
Enjoy
