Hi all

Thanks for all the advice over the last few days regarding my first mountain bike. I just bought a '05 Giant Yukon and paid just under US$400 with cage and bottle and a few extras from a massive LBS in my area. The Australian Giant warehouse is clearing stock to make space for the '06 models which should be here in about 2 months.

I will post some pics soon.

With 5yr warrantee on the frame, if it breaks they replace :)

The LBS told me if it breaks they will replace it within 5 yrs.

Good on ya. I have one and its a great bike! What type of colour did you get? Satin black or gloss black/blue?

Went with the Satin Black and when I got to the store, I decided to go for the Black/Blue. Which one do you have?

Satin Black. 19" frame. When i bought mine they didn't have the black/blue in my frame size. I prefered the satin black anyway, so i went with that. You got a good buy btw. $400US is about $515AU, i paid $600AU for mine and didn't get any extras. :( But i still love the bike!

i dont think iv ever seen so many people from aussie in the one thread! its great! by the way, nice buy. i also have a giant, great brand.

The Giant importers are clearing the stock through their retail stockists. There are a few stores discounting these at the moment. Bicycle Superstore is doing it for $559, Goldcross Cycles for $550 and a few others doing similar deals.

I got mine at The Bicycle Superstore last year in November. The RRP on them were $699! Same goes with Goldcross.
