Hello,

I have one question about correct frame size.
I wanted to buy Author Synergy 2005

http://www.author.cz/cs/kola/katalog/detail/&bike_id=1112&cat_id=121

but maximum size of the frame is 22".
My height is 187 cm, inseam height 895 mm.
If I use formula (I found on Internet) Frame size = Inseam * 0.65 = 58 cm (23").

Is my calculation correct, do I really need 23" frame?

This bike has perfect equipment for me :)
Can you recommend some other similar model?

I just cannot find any other similar bike (with that
super super equipment).

Regards,
Branimir

That formula is for fitting a road bike. With a mtn bike, there is often a lot more standover-clearance, and mtn bikes come in all sorts of different frame styles. so, the measurements tend to be somewhat arbitrary.

if I had to guess, I'd say you needed in the neighborhood of a 21" frame (since you are about the same size as me)., but really the number doesn't mean much.

obviously the best thing would be to try out the bike in person. failing that, try to find a sizing chart on their website (is that Polish? I didnt' try to look much)

Thanx for reply :)
This is trekking bike, not MTN, but yes, looks like that formula is for road bikes (I wasn't sure).
I found some web sites where they use formula for all bikes...

Author bikes are from Czech Republic, not Poland. I tried Author Classic SX (22") and
it fits fine but I had one idea that size of horizontal tube (connecting seat - fork) should
be longer. Now I made compromise, and I decided to buy 22" size of that Synergy.

Still, I cannot find any other bike with similar equipment. It's the only one :)
