Seriously: no, that shouldn't hurt anything, but sounds like a lot of work. Have you tried dissolving it in warm water, and cool that down (if you like it cool, that is)?

Put half the water in the bottle, shake...add more water or ice. ? :)

thanks for the replies guys, here is the deal, when i am at home i have a big 7-11 cup i prep the mix in and i can add the powder in slowly while stirring and it works great....but on the long rides where i carry a small zip lock bag with powder...i have to basically fill my camelbak with water and then add all the powder...and it clumps up...so i figured if it was finer it might help a little...

It is okay if you don't mind the stident screaming of little molecules as you mercilessly crush them just to make your life slightly more convenient.

I do not wear a camelbak very often, and then just for extra water. What my wife does however is fills the camelbak half full with water, add powder, close lid, shake, add more water (or ice.) Does the trick.

Don't you think the folks at Accelerade thought of that?

The problem is...it won't work. Accelerade contains protein. Protein is not water soluble. It will *always* gum up a Camelback or water bottle.

BTW - using Accelerade in a Camelback runs the risk of bacterial issues too. Camelbacks are difficult to clean, which is why most folks only use plain water in them. Otherwise, they tend to be comfy homes to billions of little nasties (especially if you feed them protein, in addition to sugars).

i rinse it with very hot (not boiling water) after each ride and then every other ride i use dishwashing soap...i have one of the newer camelbaks with the large opening so my whole hand with sponge fits inside...

Sponges are bacteria hotels!!

Sponges are not bacteria hotels if you microwave them for 2 minutes on a routine basis. Then they are bacteria mausoleums like every other reusable thing we wash dishes with.
Also, if the powder clumps at the bottom despite all your best efforts, blow into the camelbak tubing to clear the bottom. This will re-suspend the particles a bit so you don't get a chewy surprise.
