I'm going to grab an Easton EC70 Monkey Lite Carbon bar after I get my first paycheck. Just wondering which stem I should go with. Since some of them are supposedly to be not very carbon friendly.
Looking at the Race Face Deus stem right now.

I never heard of stems not being carbon fiber bar friendly. Just bar ends. I suppose some of the cheaper ones might have little burs or whatnot which would dig into the handlebar. I think your fine with the race face. Nice handlebars by the way, im running the EC70 flat right now with great luck

I think my Rocky has a FSA one right now. If none of the stems are carbon friendly, I may just stick with the current one because I like the current length & rise :D

I dont think they make stems "carbon friendly". My current stem has seen aluminum and carbon bars and so far, no issues. Ide just stick with the current one. ALso, are you going for the EC70 flat bar?

Nnaaa...I like riser bars.
The reason why I'm thinking about doing this is I may be getting some flipper shifters along with disc brakes. Then I was thinking of putting my entire handle bar along with my XT shifters and Avid SD7 levers on my beater. I also am thinking about ordering a new SRAM 990 cassette with a SRAM 99 chain. Then I remembered I have to get a new 9spd crankset with possible a new bottom bracket. Plus my beater will no longer look like a beater with a XTR rear deraileur and a nice front end....
I donno...still gotta think this through :)
