Mountain Biking - should i build it myself?

okay so i just got a new job where the discounts to me are really awsome. i can get 50% off of nearly anything from fox, marzocchi, easton, answer/manipoo, magura, mavic, and kenda, and a few others maybe. what i want to do is sell my 03 enduro and build a sweet am/fr bike. but i have many questionsmaybe you guys can help me. here are the ones that i can think of off the top of my head;

1. what would be a fair price for an 03 enduro fsr (only thing not stock is mag platform pedals)?

2. what would be a fair price for the same bike, but with a 05 vanilla R 130 insted of the zoche mx comp?

3. what would be a fair price for the 03 mx comp?

do you guys have any recomendations for frames for the new build? what about the bullit or the heckler?

I can't price that for you...

But if you are coming from the enduro you will prefer the heckler. The Buillit is a fr bike and still kind of heavy. Unless you plan to start going bigger and faster than with the enduro, than buillit all the way.

Dont know what your budget is but have you thought about the turner 5spot? Not sure how you will like the single pivot designs on the 2 frames you mentioned compared to the fsr that was on your enduro and the turner frame has.

well building your own bike is always better. Its more personal. You cant just say "I have a trek 8000". Nobody else has the same bike as you. You learn a lot with it and i think something many dont take into consideration is that so often we buy new bikes and 3 months later want to change something because we dont like what came stock. So you pay money to buy it and then upgrade it anyways later

thank you thats some good advice i will try to follow. the hard part will be having the patience to go without riding for a while until i complete the bike, because i won't be able to get everything at once becuase the budget won't be that big from selling my enduro. i will have to save more money before i finish it. from the looks of the prices on ebay i am a little disapionted in what i will probably get for it.
