I am putting together a touring bike on the Long Haul Trucker frame using 36h 700C rims and I am looking at putting a Tubus Tara low-rider rack on the front end. I have no experience with these racks and want to know if there are any clearance issues with these racks around specific tire widths on 700C rims.

Its an excellent rack, and I don't think you will have clearance issues up to 50mm (2 inches) or so. If you don't find an answer, Wayne@TheTouringStore.com will probably be happy to help. He sells lots of these racks, and is a friendly, knowledgable, responsive guy.

Have to agree. Unless you put motorcycle tires on the front you should not have any problems. Also agree about Wayne. He will spend time with you and answer all your questions.

I think you could put earthmover tires on the front and still have clearance! The Tara is a great rack and it looks cool too.

The tara is a very good rack. I also bought mine from Wayne and I've also recently bought the Cargo rack for my new LHT. So with Tara on front and Cargo on back I'm ready to take a ride to the local grocery.
