Hi Gang...

I just want to find out who's pulled off the biggest bunny hop (MTB or BMX). I'm from the UK, and managed a 21" hop on my MTB, but saw a mate of mine pull off 30"...

Could this be the start of something big?

P.S. the UK bunny hop record is 48".....geeeze, better keep practising.

I can hop an amazing 18" ;) on my MTB, on my old BMX i could just clear 8" ... I have a friend who can easyly clear 20" on his BMX bike, but he has never really cared to measure it.

After my first reply a few min ago, i got thinking about bunny hopping, i remember once on my MTB (er, i know this is a BMX forum!) i cleared a stream that was about 7' wide, i figure i was going close to 20mph at the time. So, how far / long is your longest bunny hop? (jumps dont count!)

I'll give it a go and let you know....7ft sounds pretty impressive though... :O

The biggest bunny i saw was in "ride bmx" magazine. it was around 4 feet high.

The largest i actually saw with my own two eyes was around a foot and a half.

not being stupid but i can get about 2.5 to 3 foot out of a flatland bunny hop (or wheely-hop, whatever) do get bigger air out of bunnys, do an endo, then pull your rear brake and bunny hop. more air, and less things to go wrong.
Dont bother looking in the guiness book of records for bunny hopping, its about a load of people dressed like rabbits jumping simultaniously. I warned ya.

About a year ago me and a friend bunnyhopped off a garage roof on an old bmx. The roof was about 8 feet off the ground and we were landing on grass. We only did it once each but it was mental. We knackered the bikes wheels and my friends forks snapped, but they were old bike made up from spares and it didnt matter. I highly recommend this, it sounds stupid but its excellent.

That's a good idea guys. Why don't you give us some examples of some really good lies. I'm talking real whoppers, huge lies that are so preposterous that we can't help but laugh out loud.

You could tell us how you're going to be a Rhodes Scholar, or the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Tell us how you kick it with the homies down in South Central, or how you busta cap in a coppa fo talkin smack about yo momma. Tell us you made it past the second grade.

Tell us about all the friends you made by insulting them. Tell us how the world is a better place for your being here.

Those would be some good lies, huh guys? Pretty creative?

alright what i have noticed is just playing bunny hoping is pointless, i can only get like 3", but i can get up on top cup grind.

now what that proves is most riders can only bunny hop so high when there doing it just for the hifl of it, but when you approach something and try and go up it or get on it, your going to try extra hard without knowing it. i have also noticed that when i try to 180 or 360 at this weird concaction in a parking lot that's like a paved hill on a 60 degree angle and about 5 to 6 ft high

ok, so i'm just tring to say that this is inaccurate and your more likelly to do better on something else, now the kid who can bunny hop onto a truck, i highlly doubt but i bet if he just tried bunny hopping in the middle of the street just for the hifl of it, he could get half that

I have bunny hopped my VW GTI before, just have to get some speed. It's about 5' tall. kidding. How in the hell do those guys bunnyhop onto a picnic table with a heavy bike? I used to be able to get a couple feet high on a PK ripper I had back in the 80's - the bike was crazy light. But, I have a Hoffman EP Team now, and it weighs about 85 pounds and I can barely hop 6" - BUT, I did just barely start riding again :)

Hi Oldschool,

Welcome to the forums!!! :) There's a PK Ripper on sale in Ebay, and it's going for over $800.00...can you believe it???

I can't bunny my BMX for toffee...but on my MTB, it seems alot easier.....practice, practice, practice eh!?!

Enjoy the forums!

i think people who sit around and say they bunny hop 4 feet, are on the investing in a very light bike. I dont think u can really say u have more bunny hop skill if u ride a 23 pound bike and u hop 45 inches, than a kid riding a 40 pound bike that can bunny hop 40 inches. I ride a freakin tank eastern with a buttload of heavier **** and i can do 42 inches
