Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I need a new mountain bike and I figured who beter to ask than a group of people I've never met. So..
Who has the best bike for taking me down the mountain on a burly trail, that still allows for the climb, getting over logs, screwing around? I'm looking f/s and look (hope) to spend $1500 Can. I'm looking for a good frame and decent parts that I can always upgrade as I go...help! I stopped riding a couple years ago (insert lame excuse here) and every thing is different. I've heard Devinci has some good bikes? If you have any suggestions let me know, I'm craving the mountain and need help....thanks. P.S. I need a strong bike as I tend to be extremly<cough, cough>graceful as I ride, but, i do get right back up and keep going and that my new friends, is what it is all about. That and the post ride brew...aaahh. anyways please help.thanks.

I do a lot of north shore vancouver riding and need a good downhill bike. Xc is cross country isn't it? That bike would get killed up here. Have you heard of Devinci (Devinci.com)

Get a big hit if you are bent on a FSR.

You made no mention of that in your post. I'm not a mind reader. Heard of Devinchi never seen one in person so I have no comment

The FSRxc Pro looks pretty good. I like the lock out features for the big clims but only 4 inches in the front might not be enough
Could look at the lower end Enduro's

1500$ cdn. I would go talk to john henry, dizzy cycles, on top or cove cycles and look for close outs. Your best bet will be a bighit but 1500 is pretty slim for that.
Personally not a real fan of devinci, they are 'ok'...

Another thought...if you have a sportcheck near you go and look at the ironhorses rolling through. Last years sgs and this years yakamura. Very affordable and strong and there are a few of them available in the 1500$ range.
