Have you ever watched your shadow while riding? What have you learned by analyzing the way your shadow rides it's bike?

Riding east at a little after six o'clock I noticed the shadow rider directly in front of me had quite prominent love handles, I found this troubling since I've lost weight recently, so I pushed on determined to burn some fat stores. Throughout the ride I pouted to myself, why did the love handles appear so large on the shadow rider? Do they really protrude so noticably? How am I going to get rid of those things? They're hideous!

Finishing the loop found me riding east again an hour and a half later, catching a glimpse of the shadow rider in front of me I was startled, the love handles that had so thouroughly depressed me were now sagging below each gluteus maximus.

Now I'm horrified, sure I'm over forty years old, and I'm not in the shape I was at twenty, but over 26 miles my love handles had turned to saddle bags. I might as well sign up for a room at the home, at this rate I'll need assistance with everyday activities soon.

Hold it, when I dodged that pothole one of the saddlebags got larger and the other one disappeared totally! What's going on here? Hey that's not me, it the curve of my handlebar. I've lost enough weight that the sun can get past me and cast a shadow of my handlebar!

Forget depression and horror, time to celebrate! Give me a large hot fudge sundae, with nuts, please :D

What I have learned from my shadow: If I have tied my bandana too tight, I occasionally forget to put on my helmet. D'oh!
I joined up with some guys to climb Mt. Hamilton. While still on the flats, we curved around one turn and the early morning sun was now behind us. After a few seconds of wondering why my shadow looked strange, I realized that it was because my head was too thin. A quick check with the hand revealed nothing but fabric up there.
Other times, watching my shadow helps me concentrate on keeping a still upper body.
