I may want to pick up a set of those if I chose not to go with the XT dual control setup.
Does anyone know the best place to buy these???
Thanks
Ming
I know Jenson has these brakes for $150, is this the cheapest I'll be able to get them???
Out of my 5 most shopped online reailers, Jenson has the cheapest @ $139.
You might want to take a look at these deals as they include the levers:

The site you gave me has Hayes Mags XC on close out for $149 on close out. These brakes are supposed to have a on-off feel with very little modulation. However, for half the price of a set of a Hope Minis, it is hard to say no.
However, their description has 74mm mentioned, which option should I go with for my Rock Shox SID??? I know it's supposed to have a IS mount, but I dont see the option on the site.
THanks
Ming
Which SID model do you have?

Seriously look at Avid juicy 5's...it took me a bit to get used to them over my hayes, the reason, they stopped me. Tonnes of modulation and more power than I could shake a stick at. Also cheaper than mini's

If im not mistaken, all SIDs have disc mounts. I have an 04 team, mine does. Its the 51mm so you hvae to use the adapter, which is usually included anyways

Which SID model so you have?
2003 SID Race :D I know it's not a popular fork around here, but I like the fork myself..

Yeah, even the Juicy 7s seem to be fairly cheap themselves :D I'll definitely take that into consideration...

Juicy 7's offer a lever throw control and pad placement control. Thats the only diff. Otherwise the power and modulation should be the same.

I think it odd that on avids site they rate the bb7's as more "hardcore" I guess, than the juicy 5's. That was my hinderance. Just going by that little bar graph in the corner.

More options for setup. Same with any fork. The 'hardcore' ones generally have the same valving but less options to change them. Boxxer is a great example.
Keep in mind hope mini's are for xc, juicy 5's and hayes mags are for dh.

List price, employee purchase etc...in reality, he shouldn't be posting those prices. His dealer wouldn't appreciate it, shop owner wouldn't and neither would the manufacturers themselves. Its very taboo to give out list pricing

Yeah, I kinda figured, just wanted to make sure :D
I already know most bike shops have a 30% mark up on parts, and their Canadian Distribuator probably takes 20 - 40% on everything they sell to the shop. That might be why things are cheap on ebay due to lack of middle man :)

Well, I totally changed my mind. Ended up with a pair of XT dual control shifters and XT calipers.
$230 for all the gears above off a brand new bike :D

I think I did pretty well for my money. :)
Next step is to find a disc wheelset and brake rotors....

Its also why bikroom gets in so much trouble. They bypassed the worst money offended of them all...norco. thats why bikeroom is always on par or cheaper than jenson usa
