Mountain Biking - FOX RP3 or 5th Element?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
ok...on the 04 yeti 575 the 5th element is used as the rear shock. On the 05 the Fox RP3 is used. Which one is better? The reason is that I have a deal working on the 04 but is it a good deal at $500 for the frame only with the 5th element? The frame has NEVER been used...nothing has been installed on it EVER.

I just installed a 5th air on my trail bike and it seems to be a great shock.Once I got the air pressure tuned in I really like it.I can't comment on durability yet,I only have a few rides on it so far. I do like the way the pedal platform works,it has made a big difference when I start uphill.
any other opinions...are the shocks THAT close together that either one would be fine?

Youre more than likely going to be fine with either shock. Pick the best deal on the frame. By the way, at $500 for a brand new Yeti 575 frame, I'd jump on it ;)
Good Luck
