Introductions - Hi from East Memphis

I am returning to the road scene after 20 years off. I did most all of my previous riding in the Baltimore area riding Centuries and double centuries as a young teenager. I know I can get back to that type of riding but I also know it is going to take me a long time and many many miles to get back into that kind of shape. If there is anyone else in the Memphis area in the same boat as me and wants to start training together, please feel free to contact me.

Howdy Gary! Just saw your post here. There are several organized rides thru-out the week that should suit you just fine. If you head over to The Peddler on Highland on Tues and Thurs morning (6 AM) you'll find Hal (co-owner) and group congregating for a semi-quick (yet casual) 20 mile loop. They are a great bunch of people and you may really enjoy riding with them. Also on Tues and Thurs nights (6:30) we ride mountain bikes on the streets. But it's very common for some of the group to bring their road or cross bikes. Tues is geared for beginners and intermediates but you know how that goes- if no beginners show up...... Thurs night is mtn bikes again but the pace is up a bit. We usually go downtown and back from the Highland store in just over an hour.
