Check this out. Last night I had a nice 16 mile ride and in the 15th mile I was riding on a residential street (no traffic) and started to make left turn when from behind, a car had snuck up on me (this car was real quiet) and was about to pass me on the left. I had just swerved about 2 feet left when he jammed on the brakes (slight chirp to the tires) and stopped. I didn’t even look at him, I just stopped on the right side of the street waiting for him to go on. When he didn’t continue on, I thought there was going to be trouble so I looked and he was bent down in the driver’s compartment and I thought, oh great he hit his head and is knocked out or something. So I rode over to his side of the car and he sat up. He looked ok so I said “sorry about that” and he said “I lost my lunch”. I felt bad until I realized that he was eating while driving and not paying attention.

That gave me a chuckle....

I worry for city riders that will have to deal with hybrid cars that are super quiet. I don't forsee too many of those coming up behind me here in the mtns.

I get worried when they are eating lunch, driving, and talking on the cell phone in traffic, scary!!!

When you mentioned the "he was bent down in the driver’s compartment ", I thought you were going to follow with "and he came up with a gun". I'm glad I stopped watching TV, but it's still going to take a while to shake its' dirty influence.

Hybrids - the new stealth danger. I may need a mirror *shudder*I've been thinking the same thing today.

When you mentioned the "he was bent down in the driver’s compartment ", I thought you were going to follow with "and he came up with a gun". I have to admit that before I looked, I figured he was getting out of the car to come after me.

Haha, it took me exactly 2 seconds to realize that "I lost my lunch" didn't involve regurgitation.
Close call you had.
