Recumbent - Some racing photos. Where are the highracers?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Maybe highracers were banned from racing Bend because the race officials did not want to mix up the lowracer peleton with a bunch of highracers. Kind of like BAF in Florida only with the ban on highracers this time around.

Probably, because like me, they are all old and overweight.
BTW, I did ride 104 miles today on my highracer so maybe with a little luck, I'll lose a half a pound. :) Can't help being old, though...

What prompts you to surmise that highracers were banned? I think rather that highracers are just not that prevalent on the Euro HPV scene. This, too, is just supposition on my part, though.

That might have something to do with low compact profile and 30+ mph racing speeds on the track. The "ban" is just a bit a BAF satire.
If you look at all the photos of Bend there are 2 semi low dual big wheels. One of them is like a high version of the Hachi which was an amazing bike before it crashed.

If you keep clicking on the first picture (4818) on the R arrow at the top right
the photos keep on coming, I gave up around 4890. Most interesting was the
old geezer on the prone bent, with a chin rest! Never seen one like that.
Most of those guys look like they were suffering a bit or a lot. I think Bentrox
has it right. Nederlands is the home of the lowracer. Steve

You won't find any HIGH WALKERS in Bend, they are not ridden:

That's funny, I've never walked up any hill on my Aero. Including Sonora Pass at 9700 ft el. with sustained 18% grades. 3800 ft climb in 9 miles. And I'm over 50. In fact I rode over both sides in 5 hours. 50 miles, 7500 ft of climbing. And I hung out at the top for an hour.
